When Moneypenny shot Bond at the start she had time to still shoot the bad guy as well but didn't.
In fairness, she was probably in shock and panic and thinking "what have I done??", and not yet an experienced enough field operative to take that shot and *then* think about Bond.

Skyfall (aka "Bond and M do 'Home Alone'") really irritates me. At one level it is the most stupid Bond film as Bond literally takes M away from all her security and backup in the name of protecting her and then fails to protect her.
Agreed. Hello very old Albert Finney who I haven't seen in years, in your exposed cottage, I've brought loads of armed blokes. Let's fight them off.

That and the remarkably timed tube train falling through the just created hole - garbage. The film gets worse the longer it goes on.

Although we also have the most toe-curlingly sexist line ever when Bond first meets Dr. Goodhead* (fnarr) and Roger Moore creaks up an eyebrow and incredulously remarks "A woman!"

I mean even back then it was cringeworthy. But I like to believe it was done deliberately and ironically. smile

Email the scriptwriters & ask for their thoughts . . .
I like the film overall but a small shot of Bond's parents gravestone, as a lifelong Bondie., really made it for me.

His parents, Andrew Bond and Monique Delacroix, were killed in a climbing accident in the French Alps, leaving him an orphan at age 11. He then went to live with an aunt in Pett Bottom near Canterbury in Kent.

I think it’s a real shame they couldn’t find away to bring him back especially as in the same film they have Jaws and his girlfriend supposedly surviving re-entry in half a space station with no oxygen or heat shield. hehe

It is an atrocious film, by far the worst of all the Bond franchise IMO and yet so many people seem to really like it.

It is absolutely terrible but it impressed the hell out of me at the age of about eight, so I'm very fond of Moonraker.

I used to loathe it but now I can see it for what it is, an exciting barrel of nonsense. I’d rather watch this load of tosh that doesn’t take itself even remotely seriously rather than a depiction of Bond as a sad angry dinosaur with no sense of humour but enough “issues” to fill a psychiatric textbook. And don’t forget a timeline that makes no sense at all.

Mind you, Octopussy is fking terrible.

I love John Barry's music in Moonraker. The title song may be weak but the music is superb.
I think its one of his best scores

No, as it’s the late 70’s, they used the keyboard. So it’s z x for left and right and l m for up and down. Probably space bar for shoot.
