No bad thing, didn't think he suited the franchise anyway.https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-4526...

I think Bond is largely rubbish, but I think Boyle could make it even worse.
I imagine Bond asking for consent before kissing the girl and, after an encounter with the white, middle-class, baddies being treated for his wounds in a smart new PFI hospital with a minimal wait in A&E.

Hopefully Disney will buy it up and take over the franchise. Star Wars fans seem happy with what they’ve done over there.
Are you joking? If you read any Slashdot thread about Star Wars it will be full of people moaning about how it was ruined.
(Personally I liked TLJ, but for me it's Star Wars is just a movie).

Back on-topic, whoever they get as director I hope they resist the urge to bring Mendes in for another, only because we'll need to put up with another turgid Thomas Newman score. He's held in high regard but IMO he just doesn't have the panache of David Arnold who I want to see make a return.

another great vid from GRace, some interesting snippets on Craig there.
and also, the BOnd doc on bbc4 last friday was the one I was thinking of, it had the clip of Moore playing Bond 10 years before Live and Let Die.

The first half of the film was also a slow burner, with bond attending many trade union meetings arguing for the relocation of mI5 to Manchester.
Although if you want an idea of how bad bond could of been without the reboot, try watching kingsman the golden circle.

wow - interesting observation that Mission Impossible:Fallout copies the Sam Mendes Bond style! To say that the US Bond copy has switch from Bourne to Ethan Hunt tells you everything - considering the MI franchise predates the Matt Damon iteration of Bourne, and that Dougray Scott of MI:2 (still my favourite of the series) was touted as a Bond candidate at one point - every wannabee is going around in circles while EON continue to plough their own furrow!Bond 25 Directors - Replace Danny Boyle
https://youtu.be/oOQvcR43RcMChris Nolan seems the shoo in then. I can't think of any other reason why EON would dismiss Danny Downmarket Boyle unless they had a handle on another, better choice at this stage.

I had forgotten or simply didn't know that Nolan is from the UK, he's so hollywood.Chris Nolan seems the shoo in then. I can't think of any other reason why EON would dismiss Danny Downmarket Boyle unless they had a handle on another, better choice at this stage.
The thing about Nolan doing 25...I like it, but it's the end of the craig era...so would he? Maybe a riff on the dark knight returns, or would he love to take Bond 7 (26) and craft him as he sees bond?

Her Joan Cusack eyebrow and mannerisms are quite annoying. another great vid from GRace, some interesting snippets on Craig there.

Not sure about Nolan either. Just bring back Campbell, safe pair of hands to round out the Craig series.

Read there was fallout between Craig and Boyle about who played the baddie.
Maybe the problem with Bond is that Craig has too much clout.
If that's the real reason, it's pretty silly. You don't go to a top level director like DB and think he's not gonna do things his wayMaybe the problem with Bond is that Craig has too much clout.

Ken loach to remake octopussy where Bond drives a lada rather then the alfa.....so he is too late. The atomic bomb detonate in the Us airbase and the gloruis leaders overrun the imperialist underdogs. Corbyn to play the russian general

HIgh time the likes of Woo or Bigeow got involved in the Bond franchise. Boyle is far too left and I guess he wanted to turn 007 into some frustrated NHS employee who vanished down a bog in Glasgow.
This story line was suggested some time ago but was rejected at a high level Bond ideas meeting.Gassing Station | TV, Film, Video Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
