Inside Live and Let Die, the ‘edgy’ blaxploitation Bond the purists love to hate
Thanks. That was a good read. Inside Live and Let Die, the ‘edgy’ blaxploitation Bond the purists love to hate

My favourite line in the film sums up Moore’s version of the character.
Mr Big: “Take this honky outside and waste him.”
Bond: “Waste him? Is that a good thing?”

It’s a great film. Purists be damned.
watched it again a few weeks ago - fanbloodytasticIt's one that I always used to rate as one of the less enjoyable ones that I never made a point of watching however after talking to my mum and her telling me how much she loved it as it was the first Bond she saw in the cinema as a young teenager I thought I'd give it more time.
It's either aged brilliantly in the years since I last watched it or my taste has, either way I was glued to it from start to finish in a way few films are able to. Proper Bond film!

Rumours around that Christopher Nolan is going to write and direct 2 Bond films (although one site I read had posted an update saying they heard it was total Sloblock).
Now people saying if it's him directing then surely the next Bond will be Hardy or Murphy.
I can’t be the only one who remembers that reference? Classic…Now people saying if it's him directing then surely the next Bond will be Hardy or Murphy.

Yep, this is why I'd love to see a Bond directed by someone like Christopher Nolan who focuses on realism. Not necessarily Nolan just someone who'd want as much of the action done for real, if it can't be done for real it won't look real on screen.
Please let it be true! Scabutz said:

I like both actors, Hardy and Murphy, but both are 46-47 making them the oldest actors to play him in their first movie. Now people saying if it's him directing then surely the next Bond will be Hardy or Murphy.
Connery 31-32
Lazenby 29
Moore 45
Dalton 41
Brosnan 42
Craig 38
And seeing as they want the next actor to last a few films, cant see either of them being the ones.

Why don't they just give it to Tom Hiddlestone and be done with it. He has the ice cool killer look about him. Hardy and Murphy are too well known. Now people saying if it's him directing then surely the next Bond will be Hardy or Murphy.

Generally I would prefer someone less well known, but Hiddleston could potentially be very good in the role.

You're saying the man who stars in the multi-billion dollar MCU franchise is not well known?

He's not exactly the headline name but yes ok.Generally I would prefer someone less well known, but Hiddleston could potentially be very good in the wole.
Was thinking more of his work in high rise and the night manager. And he's the right look/age.
I'm in the Hiddlestone or Cavill camp.
Hiddlestone edges it for me in that Cavill has the Superman casting associated with him.
Hiddlestone was/is Loki, but that's not as big a role IMO.
Hardy is too old. So is Elba. So is Cillian Murphy. Have one of those as 'M'
If the go for a younger Bond, I'm all up for Tom Holland.
