Well, that was a tad amateurish and cringe-worthy.

Malek confirmed though.
I didn't bother with the live broadcast, but I don't think we've learned anything significant that we didn't already have speculated on anyway?

Biggest news is Phoebe WB on the writing credits..
Hope they get someone decent to do the theme song after Skyfall (crap) and Spectre (beyond crap).

I didn't mind Skyfall, but Spectre was dreadful. They should have used the Radiohead version.

Yet I haven't even got round to watching Spectre.
Watch an episode of Rentghost instead.
Difficult to even start how much of a colossal waste of time Spectre is.
It also drags on for WAY too long.

Possibly worst Bond film ever ,for me.

Watched Live and Let Die.
I was most interested in the opening scene of Bond's flat. The décor, the coffee maker. M was mesmerised by it and there were many shots of his kitchen and close-ups. I guess the director got a free one. biggrin
I wonder if it all looked space age back then.
That's one of my all time favourite Bond scenes.
I could have watched more of that, it was just so watchable for some reason. I sat there thinking these old films are such a great historic record for seeing how people lived.

Midnight's Edge had a vid on it a while back, they're expecting BOnd to hand over to new female agent.

Franchise over then (not that I believe it is a done deal by any means).

Some people in entertainment should have the courage to resist political pressures.

As for the Fleabag creator coming on board, I suspect that is starstruck Barbara Broccoli yet again giving in to one of Daniel Craig's brainfarts (like his suggestion they let dirge-fest creators Radiohead write the Spectre theme music, before realising someone could actually come up with something worse than Thomas Newman and Sam Smith).

PS. No announcement of who was doing the score, but with Mendes out the door I hope he took (vastly overrated IMO) Newman with him and David Arnold is welcomed back.

Doesn't surprise me at all and makes sense. Why go to all that effort to rebuild the entire main Bond story arc to not then finish it in the next film.

All the recent rumors have been true. Bond are not as good as MCU at keeping secrets. M (Dench) dying, Waltz being Blofeld in Spectre, Rami being the baddie in this one. Where all rumours.

That video was rather awkward but looking forward to the Jamaican setting (liked the Fleming-esque villa they showed at the end of the video which seems to be Bond's "retirement house"). Also Ana de Armas.. schwing!

Being a watch geek I was trying to see what Omega Daniel Craig was wearing.. couldn't quite tell.

I don't think it was Fleming-esque.. that WAS Fleming's house. Or did you watch a different video?

I'm still thinking that Waltz/Malik will both be Blofeld, and the masked chap in the second-unit filming was supposed to be him having undergone plastic surgery. Changing the actor of the character of Blofeld is a tradition almost as old as the franchise itself.

Yes it is. Apparently the film opens with him in retirement and that's set at Goldeneye. Nice little nod to Flemming.

If they want to do something like that then they should do it in parallel with James Bond, not instead of: Jane Bond, with a different 00 number. It would be an easy way to expand the franchise without destroying it.

I always liked the original Casino Royale with everyone as James Bond. smile

The idea that "James Bond" was a code name rather than an actual person always worked for me.

What is old is new! This was exactly the thinking behind the Jinx/Halle Berry character from DAD who was supposed to get their own spin-off. They had a script and a director lined-up and everything.

Yes the video was set at the actual Goldeneye but at the end they showed the movie set house they have built for Craig's Bond to live in. It was smaller but similar in style with the veranda etc

OT here but I agree and this is also one of the unexpected joys of the old location filmed TV episodes like Professionals, Sweeney; the backgrounds of all their shots are a fantastic documentary record of 70s London. That role is now taken by StreetView I suspect.
