If they want to do something like that then they should do it in parallel with James Bond, not instead of: Jane Bond, with a different 00 number. It would be an easy way to expand the franchise without destroying it.
What is old is new! This was exactly the thinking behind the Jinx/Halle Berry character from DAD who was supposed to get their own spin-off. They had a script and a director lined-up and everything.
Thank god that was never made, her character was one dimensional and the dialogue made the Roger Moore films seem high browed ..

There are loads of possabilities: Honey ryder as an agent left on the remote island and thinks she is still active as nobody has told her the war is over...

The sisters from goldfinger have a third who sets out to avenge their deaths. Her only clue is a scottish person who knew both of them and was present when they were both killed...

Blofelds badies escape from the volcano and go to ground, forming a quiet sect and regrouping before having another go...

..the women from OHMSS actually had two triggers: they managed to get rid of one with intensive physcotherapy, but the second was triggered by the word "waterloo". Unwittingly, abba start a reign of female led terror cells throughout the world.

The female army from octopussy. Think about their children: todays woke generation...

Indeed. I never thought she would go for it. I know they have made the bond girls more deep and not just eye candy but I never thought she was enough of a Feminista to make 007 female.

I'm all for strong female characters, I have 2 daughters and want them to see strong girls. But not to take a 100% Male role and make it female.

My wife is a full on bra burning feminist and hates JB but even she thinks it's a st idea.

Hopefully this is it put to bed.

Watched the sky programme on the launch.daniel Craig came across like a grumpy so and so who really didnt want to be there. They should have binned him off doing another one after he messed them around with his reluctance to do a 5th film.

that's a pretty big smack down in public. Things can't be hunky dory in team bond.

As for strong bond girls, cripes, Lady Theresa was archetypal, she saved his life and took no st, just write one like her, it's not hard.

Everything about it is just perfection. Even the one-liner humour is handled brilliantly and not restricted to the main characters.

Yuri Borienko/Grunther's deadpan response to one of his own men trying to ski-jump over a ridge and landing in a tree ("Idiot!") cracks me up every time.

"Guns make me nervous".

I like the bit when the scientist throws the acid jar at bond and it hits the glass and melts it. Bonds face as he looks it at and turns his nose up.

Only tinged by the sadness of knowing that a stunt man died during the filming of that sequence. frown

Every day's a schoolday! I didn't know about that, but I can understand entirely why it was removed as it adds nothing to the plot.
