I've been wondering about giving them all "Friends" names instead:

The one with the girl in the bikini
The one with the knife in the boot
The one where Bond is expected to die
The one where they steal the nuclear bombs
The one with the volcano
The one with Kojak
The one with the moon buggy
The one with the crocodile steps
The one with Dracula
The one with the underwater Lotus
The one where Bond flies the shuttle
The one where absolutely nothing happens
The one where they eat sheep's eyes
The one where Bond does Grace Jones
The one with the cello
The one with the hottest chick ever
The one with the space laser
The one with the Swiss Banker
The one where Bond gets a haircut
The one where Bond wins a DB5
The one which nobody understands
The one where MI6 blows up
The one with a nice big table

Nice.
Funny how space laser can apply to so many Bonds.

The one with the man with metal hands
The one where Bond makes a porno
The one with the gold tits
The one where Bond flies
The one where Bond dies and changes race
The one where Bond is saved by a bird/cries
The one with plenty o'toole
The one where names are for tombstones baby
The one with the flying car
The one with the swimming car
The one with jaws and the cable car
The one with the exploding car
The one with Bond as a clown and a car on rails
The one where Steed and Bond team up, in a nice old car
The one with the skiing car
The one with Bond as a drug baron
The one with the kinky sex assassin
The one with fake nooz
The one where Bond drives a BMW
The one with that minx, JInx, and an invisible car
The one where Bond plays bingo, or something
The one where Bond cannot find a suit that fits
The one where we meet Bond's gardener
The one that relies on meta-historical aspects to make sense
The one where we all hope isn't gonna be a big ole pile of wk

Excellent new title. I look forward to announcing it's screening on ITV in 2022 or 2023 but until then I draw your attention to Bond on TV now.

Licence to Kill ITV4 9pm and 10pm on ITV 4+1
This is the usual 2nd showing after last weeks.
It's Timothy Daltons second and final one

And on Friday it's time for Pierce Brosnan's debut in Goldeneye. The one that rekindled interest and proved it was still viable after a long time away

ITV 4 9pm. Friday 23rd July

Don't mind the title but for the love of god, please let's have a decent theme song and a decent performer.

Goldeneye is brilliant, except for Sean Bean. He's almost as bad in it as he was in "When Saturday Comes" or "The Martian" or anything else he's ever been in.

You say “almost as bad” as though there’s something out there in which he’s good.
About the peak of his career is the latest Yorkshire Tea adverts which I found quite amusing, mostly because he’s taking the piss out of himself.

Too mainstream and aimed at the female audience who think he’s fugly yet somehow cute.
Muse have been on the cards to do one for years and would be perfect IMHO, in terms of both style and content but they never seem to get the gig in the end.
High time Hans Zimmer got dragged in too.
Or Jóhann Jóhannson of Sicario scoring fame.
Pure Bond waiting to happen.....

"The one where Bond is expected to die"

That's kinda the plot to every Bond film ain't it ?

Because they never kill him with a 9mm to the skull when they have the chance, they
allow him to live so they can despatch him with some convoluted execution method which he always
escapes from, e.g. shark infested pool, big spinning toothed wheels, walls and ceiling which move in order
to crush him to a squishy pulp,

......a 7 foot tall man with metal teeth ...doh ?

It's long been my belief that Bond films were and are still, ste, even when I was 10 I knew they were ste.

Yes, but it's Goldfinger's classic quote.

The other bit is Star Wars, not Bond. Easily confused I grant you. (Though it was just walls).

Beautifully sent up in Austen Powers where Dr. Evil's son says exactly that and even offers to do the shooting.

I’m a staunch 007 fan and always have been, but I’m beginning to agree with this.
I watched the latest Mission: Impossible instalment recently and it’s streets ahead of Bond on every single level.
They just seem more grown up, and succeed in being jaw-droppingly spectacular without being ridiculously stupid.

The Bond I love to diss is on again in his 2nd and last outing.
IMHO its got one of the prettiest girls of any Bond film in it as the villains piece that gets semi attached to Bond

At the time it was widely thought to be the least traditional Bond film of any
Licence to Kill ITV4 9pm and 10pm on ITV 4+1
The blond pilot is one of the best of any film.

Early outing for BDT too

Bless your heart

LTK is the only Bond to be filmed entirely outside the UK.
Pinewood only contributed to post-production/editing.
It definitely shows.

Sadly Jóhann Jóhannson died in 2018. A great loss at a very young age.

But that's half the charm of Bond; it's from a bygone age. Having said that, it doesn't help that it created the kind of clichés that films like Austin Powers poke fun at.

I think the Bourne films, and to some extent the MI films, did hammer a few nails in its coffin though. yes

Edit: Incidentally, the MI films are becoming increasingly stupid and divorced from reality.
