I think I was 7 when I saw my first Bond film at the cinema. But I'm not going to tell you which one it was, as it will date me. smile

Exactly how old I was when i fist saw it and was the one that cemented by love of Bond films!
It was the first one I saw at the cinema but unlike dear CC I don't mind admitting that I was 11 at the time when I saw it. As per the opening post to this thread, Goldfinger was the first film I saw and got me into it

Goldeneye had;

Bungee jump
Cagiva jump off into plane
DB5
F355
Suffocating sex lady
8/10 Bond girl
Russian Coltrane
Belt
Tank
Statue
Train
Plane crash
1.9 4-cyl Z3 (in tourquiose)
Big Sky dish
Pen go boom
Mr Bean gets squished

Best ingredients for bond film.

If they had spliced the 750iL montage into that it would be a 10/10 from me.

Plus Minnie Driver singing stand by your man in a dodgy Russian accent.

Slug heads. The writing, the acting, the accent, all bloody awful. At least Famke actually had a decent Georgian accent.

I think Goldeneye is the best of the PB era, it's the most rewatchable one. TND has the best pre-credits scene, and TWINE has a good baddie, also decent pre-cred scene too.

You forgot making cyclists fall over and the helicopter!

Lets not forget that it also spawned the best video game ever made!!

Goldeneye parties, yeah, it was most satisfactory to destroy friends in that, I think Perfect Dark perfected the maps and weapons.

And Jack Wade starting his Zaz with a sledgehammer.

Interesting that in Edge of Darkness, Joe Don Baker played a CIA agent who drives around in a Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud. A little joke here from director Martin Campbell?

I think the joke was Joe Don Baker playing the bad guy in The Living Daylights just 2 Bonds earlier.

Which is the exact reverse of what Charles Gray did. Short lived ally in You Only Live Twice, then played Blowfeld 2 films later.

That was my post, several pages ago mind you. I completely agree with you and I am pleased to say that "our" advice paid off well, a friend's 10 year old watch GoldenEye the other night on my recommendation and loved it.

Hans up who can remember the song played over the End credits ?
IMHO the only really bad thing about Goldeneye was the soundtrack which I think is the worst of any.

Goldeneye has one of the best theme songs though, all the ones that mention gold are pretty darn good.
