The Walking Dead Series 7 - No spoilers please.
Discussion
Liked how they played with 'killing' Glenn in season 6 then brought him back to life much to the dismay of us comic geeks. I was convinced they'd bottled it (his almost death being a sop to the original storyline). I actually turned to the wife after Abraham got it tonight, all smug and said, 'you know they killed Glenn in the comics '
Then.... Doh!!
Show finally got some balls and reflected the violence of the of the comics. That said viewing figures are up at 17million or so and that is a niche level of violence for 17m people
Pretty much scene for scene:
Geek mode on/
Anybody spot the dude with polaroid camera at the end, linking back to when they stormed the compound and the photos above the bed...

Strip away the gore and the blood, the excess violence... this is a series meant to portray society now at it's worst. Survival at all costs, survival of the fittest or most ruthless, humanity completely broken.
The blood and gore serve only to amplify the sensation of just how bleak society has become.
Bit pathetic when they have to resort to this level of gore to portray this though isn't it.The blood and gore serve only to amplify the sensation of just how bleak society has become.
It just wasn't needed. Seeing the impacts helped no-one. seeing a head shashed to a pulp did nothing useful.
as episodes go, nothing progressed. All of that could have been captured in 30 seconds, not a full episode.

It's a horror show, watch The Tellytubbies if you don't want to see violence. It just wasn't needed. Seeing the impacts helped no-one. seeing a head shashed to a pulp did nothing useful.

..and the 10 minute car chase sequence at the end of The Blues Brothers could be cut to just show the start and the end. There's a reason they showed exactly what happened. If you didn't get anything from it, this is not a show for you.Scrubs said:

If you didn't get anything from it, this is not a show for you.By going so graphic, it stopped it from being chilling, having suspense or being entertaining. One of the oldest rules in the horror book is to maintain suspence, and try to show the monster as late on as possible. In this case the use of lucille was the monster. Waiting for the hit was dull.
