How much does someone earn from getting 200K views? It can't be that much.

He's got 1.93M subscribers but only has approximately 200K views on his last few videos, seemingly struggling for content and when you've no personality you've little else to rely on.

I know who I'd rather have a pint with.

Lol.

I can't think of a more appropriate response.

Seems legit.
I thought he was a wker in a previous life. Or he's from money.

I'd have more respect for him, ironically, if his money was all from YouTube.

Edit. Banker. Must stop getting those terms confused.

I watched Shmee's video of the launch of the TVR Griffith.

Something about his manner reminded of Nico Rosberg. Both seem very affable and enthusiastic, but there is something about both of them that pisses me off.

Don’t watch Tim’s collection video of his AMG GTR then, as Nico is in that too biggrin

I disagree. Nico comes over as pretty genuine, imo. Shmee? Not in the slightest, for me anyway.

I'm sure he's a very pleasant person when the camera is off and I really, really want to like the channel because he has some great cars that could provide a fascinating insight into ownership.

But his presenting style and mannerisms are so annoying. I find one of his videos coming up, such as one of the latest ones on cost of Ferrari ownership and think
"That'll be interesting"

But then find myself having to turn off after a couple of minutes because he's soooooo irritating... irked

He produces content for YouTube. You are aware that it's a job? You get paid for it if you get enough people watching.

Some of the biggest stars on YouTube make millions per month.

Monthly earnings (Yes, Monthly):

There have been various estimates floating around that suggest Shmee earns around £800,000-£1million per year from Youtube views.

Anyway, I like him. He seems like a nice chap and I wish him the best with his career.

This has to be a massive bubble waiting to pop.

I watch youtube videos all the time, I always skip adverts and I’ve never bought anything advertised to me via any youtube channel.  How many others are like me?

Someone, somewhere, is paying people a tremendous amount of money for old rope, imo.  So whether that’s the advertisers paying youtube, and you tube paying the youtubers, either way, it’s hugely overvalued, imo.

Having said that, well done to anyone who has the nous to capitalise.

It is impossible to know the revenue generated by YouTube because Alphabet won't say how much each brand contributes to their overall revenue. (They own Google, YouTube, Play Store, DeepMind etc)

The estimation is that YouTube itself contributes between $16 billion and $25 billion in annual revenue to Alphabet.
Advertising revenue and subscription to YouTube Premium is what pays all the content creators and provides those billions to the parent company.

Most people say they don't watch the adverts, but the advertisers must be seeing it as worthwhile otherwise they wouldn't be doing it. You will note that recently the ability to skip adverts has been reduced recently. This is because YouTube wants to push it's subscription model where you will pay £10 a month to watch whatever you want, free of adverts.

Youtube is far from good enough to warrant paying that as well as netflix, amazon prime, spotify there is even less chance ill be getting another service online that I get little use of!

The amount of devices you tube is available on means it’s a bubble that will grow and grow.
The number of people with access to it compared to TV for example.
Add the fact it’s on devices most people carry with them at all times too.

This.

It'll use your browsing and watching history combined with your location and commute data to work out ypur social economic status and the things you'll likely buy.

Photos on your phone? Background images can also work out where youve been, as well as facial recognition of anyone in the photo to wprk out your networks of friends and aquaintances.

All this adds up to targetted ads which will be shown to deliver statistically significant improvement in sales conversion.

No tinfoil - the above already happens.

Shmees vids arent for me, but good luck to him - he seems to be making a living doing what he loves.

Even if he earned a minimum of £700k a year from YouTube he's obviously got money coming from other means like silver spoon trust funds.

He made a video about the cost of running a Ferrari GTC4 Lusso it was something like £35k a year. Most of his cars are financed through his own Shmee150 finance company and most are appreciating assets so that offsets the initial outlay in the long term.

I remember him discussing the deposits for the Senna and Ford GT and they seemed genuinely terrifying. Throwing down £100k deposit then another £100k then another £250k and then another £200k. Insane amounts of money for 99.9% of the population the others the cost of secure parking and storage which in London must be insane.

It amazing that supercar spotters can end up owning supercars all through their hobby, much respect. I can't watch them though as they are now either adverts or pretty boring, considering the plethora of them doing it nowadays.

I highly doubt those figures ,this is what Forbes reckons and I think more realistic than pewpewihatejewjew earning £85m/year
