Is Shmee150 going to be the new Chris Harris?
Discussion
I admire his ability to treat himself to some very desirable cars and through his YouTube success he's managed to get himself on the invited list to many top quality 'jollies'. Good for him I say. Who wouldn't want to swap places with him.
I used to watch his films but not any more. Why? Probably 'coz it's just more of the same. As for his rivals, I've clicked a couple of times & rarely got to the end.
Will his YouTube success last? Will he manage to get more mainstream? Time will tell.

For me, he's not got an engaging or entertaining personality, in fact I find him a bit annoying. For that reason, I've never watched one of his videos long enough to judge his knowledge or expertise, so I can't comment on them. Chris Harris on the other hand, seems like "one of us" (who knows if it's genuine or simply part of his professional persona) in that he's simply a normal bloke whose into cars and driving for their own ends.
Also irrespective of the reality of it, possibly because Harris really is a professional and Shmee isn't, Harris gives the impression of forming an independent opinion on whatever topic whereas I get the feeling (as noted, from my limited exposure to his videos) that Shmee is more obviously influenced by manufacturers' PRs and event hospitality.

No he is not, any bloke who calls themselves Schmee and their cars Schmee mobiles is going to get laughed at, a lot.
Is that not his given name then? He actually chose it for himself?Has anybody else seen that advert on the tv at the moment saying how you shouldn't use your first childhood email nickname in your adult life because nobody will take you seriously?

So many threads, so many different spellings of Shmee.
And so much irrational hatred / disdain for a young man who is, privileged or not, doing really well for himself.
Except none of the 'hatred' as you put it, which is an exaggeration, is because of his privelege or wealth. It's because he's boring and repetitive. Nobody is complaining about Harris finally making a dime. And so much irrational hatred / disdain for a young man who is, privileged or not, doing really well for himself.
So get off your moral high horse and contribute something worthwhile.

No moral high horse here. Just pointing out there have been many posts over the years in other threads about his background, questioning his (source of) wealth. So get off your moral high horse and contribute something worthwhile.
Good luck to him I say. He got in there first and created a valuable brand. And I say that as someone who isn't one of his one million Instagram followers or 900,000 YouTube subscribers.

I'm not sure anybody questions the source of his wealth do they ? He's clearly no Lord Aleem.........Good luck to him I say. He got in there first and created a valuable brand. And I say that as someone who isn't one of his one million Instagram followers or 900,000 YouTube subscribers.
He had a good start in life and has leveraged that very well to exploit a lucrative market that to most PHers is entirely alien.

he will never be harris as he can't drive properly.
he binned the 657 LT into his mate on a recent trip and all he ever does is put it in race mode in a straight line ;-)
he is doing the Audi TT cup soon at hocekenheim.
not exactly the Ring 24 hours now is it ;-)
The guy from evo who actually does do racing finished last in the TT cup so I'm pretty sure it's not easy!he binned the 657 LT into his mate on a recent trip and all he ever does is put it in race mode in a straight line ;-)

I have watched a few of his videos, mainly because I watch a lot of stuff on YT and after a while you are bound to stumble across one.
I think I count myself as not the target audience, which is fair enough.
However, what I think is fair to say is that if you offer yourself as a public/YT personality (which he most certainly does), then you open yourself to both fair AND unfair criticism. That's part of the 'job'. The cries of 'leave him alone' etc simply dont wash. He is not a private person - he is now, through his own choosing, a public figure with all the associated positive and negatives that bring.
If you post stuff like this on YT, you are fair game.

Oh dear, that is pretty cringe inducing.I think I count myself as not the target audience, which is fair enough.

I'm sure it's relatively easy to finish last. Trying to finish first is where the skill's needed!Gassing Station | TV, Film, Video Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
