Had the same, Sky phoned and offered 50%, said no. Tried online chat out of curiosity the other day and they couldn't offer the previous 50%, 40% max unless I phoned (and even then no guarantee). I have no issue cancelling tbh but it will mean either getting a freesat box or getting an aerial fitted (never needed it due to having Sky).
I bought a Humax freesat pvr and run it through my sky dish, saved me buying an aerial!

Just renewed my basic package (Original bundle) over the phone for 8.00 a month after my previous 12 months at 6.60 a month deal came to an end.

Still a 60% discount on the "list" price, so satisfied with that.

Is that 40% off the Sky Q subscription? Any install challenge other than the £65 for the kit?
Yeah 40% off the total TV package with Q. £65 for the box itself. No installation cost.

They offered the 1TB Sky Q box for £20, but I opted for the 2TB one as it is a bit fancier.

Sky 1, Atlantic and Living come on the most basic package, original, but only in HD. To get History and Discovery you need variety minimum, but again not in HD. Box Sets gets you all the above in HD.

I've just cancelled mine. I was paying £70 for variety (not HD) and Unlimited fibre broadband. My box is on the way out as well.
They offered the grand total of £15 off. Waste of a bloody phone call. No offer of Sky Q or anything else. Frustrating when you've been with them years.

I might actually go through with it and sign up to Now TV. I just know I'd miss the convenience of Sky+ It's annoying when a new customer can get a 2Tb Sky Q box with multi screen and HD for £37/month

Who did you speak to? I find that you initially get put through to their upgrades team who have naff-all in the way of deals, you need to get through to retentions who seem to magically have other offers they can provide

Well after nothing - no email, no offer on My Sky, nothing - I had a call from Retentions who long story short offered me 50% off. As I'm VIP Black I get a Sky Q setup for free too. I got what I wanted so the Q is an extra I'll mull over for the next few days.

I was put through to retentions. Made the one attempt to keep me with the paltry offer then put the cancellation through. I've already switched broadband providers as there's some great deals about, so waiting to see if I get any calls about tv

I'm in the same boat, just switched to the Vodafone fibre deal with the free Sonos. Even with half price fibre from Sky the Voda deal is cheaper. Cancellation is next week for TV at which point I'm going to get a freesat box, provided Sky don't come through with a deal I can't say no to (which I'm not hopeful of)

Would like to do the freesat route myself, the humax kit apparently has come a long way from the clunky ste it was before, but the only reason I can't is Eurosport for the bike racing.

Thought about getting freesat and paying for the Eurosport player but apparently that's awful and not reliable, unless it's changed lately.

Well, after many, many years of subscription have just phoned to cancel them (on box set package @ £38 a month). Explained that BT TV offered most of what we watch for £12.50 (summer deal). After some discussion, was offered 30% on 18 month contract - said no. Then the old 'I'll speak to my manager' used car salesman gambit and came back with 40% and 18 month - declined this too (and said at 50% I might consider). No further offer made.

Just checked online and have a 40% and 12 month offer (so already an improvement on phone deal)

So will see in coming weeks whether this gets improved?

Fully prepared to leave unless they can make a compelling case cost wise to stay....

Well, a week later and online offer is down to 30%!

Unless it improves (dramatically), will let it cancel.

There is no science to it at all! As i said above, I had no calls, no emails, no offers on My Sky and was starting to look at BT TV (which I wasn't really bothered about) and then I got a call yesterday.

I have one of the original Humax Freesat certified boxes (Foxsat HDR) and I wouldn't call it ste.
It's quiet and always records perfectly.

Not the recording, the clunkyness of the interface, it was just very basic/slow, would expect it to have moved on a lot by now, unfortunately doesn't solve my Eurosport issue.

Sky are ste in a lot of areas, but the way sky looks and operates is decent.

It's worth remembering that if you have your marketing preferences set to no contact at all then they legally CAN'T call you!

Our sky contract is up end of October. What is the protocol for keeping an eye out for any deals?
We pay about 72 quid all inclusive for SkyQ (all packages) and their fastest fibre.

Ideally we would like to keep our current level but upgrade to Sky multiroom so we can have it in our bedroom. What is the likelyhood of that and does anyone have any banging deals?

Looked all over the 'My account' section to check this and can't find it anywhere
