Can you get HD on sky sports on now tv or any other streaming service.

I can't get Virgin and have Sky, don't want BT and only really want sports. Is streaming an option?
720p only for live stuff on now TV

Well, 10 days to go and still only 30% discount (from 40% originally offered). Looks like it's cheerio Sky!

Anyone use BT TV - I'd be interested in experiences of it and recommendations (or not)?
I went from Sky > BT > Sky.

BT TV was absolutely shocking, couldn't wait to get rid of it. You really appreciate Sky when you dont have it any more.
Totally agree with this as did the same thing. Cancelled Sky last year and went BT TV, big mistake. Box needs regular resets as loses connectivity (despite being physically connected to BT router as no WIFI built in), menu system is a PITA and you realise just how much of the content you do watch is SKY only.

I was offered a 60% discount by SKY after a month or so and jumped at it. 12 months later I have just cancelled all of my BT services to move over to SKY for both TV and Broadband at a 50% or so discount. Will see how the switch over goes on the 15th..

The only downside I can see so far is the ludicrous amount BT charge to access their sport channels on a SKY box. Will have to find an alternative solution for CL games.

Any body been caught with the £10 handling fee for setting up a new discount package?
I'd just spent 50 minutes on the phone re nogotiating my 50% discount that I'd had for the last year (not before I'd been charged full price for August because I'd not made a note of when the last deal ended) when the woman on the other end casually says there's a £10 handling fee!
Once I'd stopped laughing, I told her that if that was the case she could just forget it and cancel my subscription.
Unsupprisingly it was waved

Our sky contract is up end of October. What is the protocol for keeping an eye out for any deals?
We pay about 72 quid all inclusive for SkyQ (all packages) and their fastest fibre.

Ideally we would like to keep our current level but upgrade to Sky multiroom so we can have it in our bedroom. What is the likelyhood of that and does anyone have any banging deals?
Just bumping this up as didn't see any responses.

I'm not sure what happens at the end of the deal, do we automatically go back to full price or do we remain on our existing contract?

You'll go back to paying full price. You need to call them 30 days before your contract ends to renegotiate/cancel.

Ok that sounds like fun... not.... !!!! laugh

As long as the price doesn't increase then it should be fine.

I cancelled last week - so far no messages of offers or anything. Not too fussed to be honest, but it's interesting to see if they will try to retain me.

We paid £25 for the full TV bundle last year (HD, Sports, Cinema etc) and quit after that went up to £80. They've contacted us every week but never been able to get anywhere near that, but I thought this was pretty good...

Was that an offer that was emailed to you?

How long is that for?

I'm on a 5 year 50% contract, 30 day notice.

OK cheers. I remember a few years ago going through the usual cancellation pantomime when the chap offered 50% to which I said no, he then said 75%, I said OK then. He then said but we'll also give you free broadband for a year, what a salesman, I've already said yes and he's still trying to close the deal!

Post. I changed my settings to remove all other forms of communication as I was fed up with them phoning me.

Well after variable success with the alternatives I've succumbed to a new offer and got myself a shiny new Q box complete with Sports and Movies.

However, there are some issues with the set up (e.g. Movies HD OK but Sports only flipping SD) which I'm trying to resolve. And what a shambles trying to contact them, hours wasted going through different online menus, waiting for Chat windows to open, when they do they just close again with no explanation. Try the phones, always get "we are extremely busy and there will be a long wait": well employ some more people then. Still not managed to get near a real person or resolve any of my issues. Can't even find an email address to use.

I remember from the good old days Sky having a really good support team but now it is just none existent and utterly hopeless. Really makes me wish I hadn't bothered.

Anybody had similar or know the best method for getting through to them?

Also anyone else find the Q box EPG a big step backwards from the normal HD one?

My Sky Q sub went from £80.50 pcm when the contract ended to £92 on Sept 6th. I phoned them up to discuss and got an 18 month contract for £67.50 pcm with a refund for the extra I paid this month. They gave it to me before I even had a chance to threaten to leave so I reckon I could've got it for less if I'd pushed them.

Is the standard sky q box and its functionality worth upgrading to from the sky hd box? I don't need any multi room functionality.

Yes. I really like it and it seems so much more up to date.

The different menus take some getting used to. I love the touch controller. Everyone else hates it. Means I can always find it! Result!

mine is, after some troubles though.

We kept losing signal. Much scratching of heads and changing of components. Turned out that a Velux roof window was interrupting the signal when it was being opened. Twisted the dish a bit and bingo, sorted.

The main engineer told me that the signal is VERY sensitive.
