If anyone likes F1 but does not like paying for football, Sky have recently announced that you can individually add the F1 channel to your contract for £10 a month, with that price locked for 2 years. Offer begins March 1st.
Just checked my bill, I only pay £15 per month for all Sky Sports, so £10 for 1 channel doesn't sound that great to me.Cancelled my contract and gone on 31 days notice this morning.
My bill was due to go up to a staggering £146 a month (Sky+ HD, Cinema and Sports with fibre max) in April and it's annoyed me enough to pick up the phone and get rid.
Lowest the retentions fella could offer me was £103 but mind was made up and pulled the plug. Guessing they will probably be a better offer on it's way before my notice period ends but it'll have to be a good one to make me change my mind.

Not necessarily, they're not daft and they know full well that people pull the plug thinking they'll get some amazing offer for them to stay.I tried it, it's a case of who will blink first, in the end I negotiated something with them a few days before I was due for disconnection, nothing amazing but better than what I was on.
If you're prepared to lose Sky for a month or so then I'd imagine they'll be more likely to offer you something.

to answer your first just before we have alook at every for you
there has been an increase in your current bill of £2 for broadband and £4 over some tv packages total of £6
as broadband as increase you are right this can be cancelled at any point and not have any fees at all due to ofcom regulations
tv though the terms do state prices can increase and this term does need to be seen out inless raised over 10% of the full price

I could probably bite at £10 per month for the F1 - I'd cancel it after the last race of the year- apart from being a bit pissed off they are increasing my current £14 per month barely used basic entertainment package by £2. The bds.
Then again, thanks to kids, I may struggle to watch any races live this year, so the highlights on C4 may do - I would rather watch the full race on catch-up though, as sometimes the highlights seem a bit disjointed.

The £10 a month F1 offer is good for two years. Not sure if it contracts you or not though. Then again, thanks to kids, I may struggle to watch any races live this year, so the highlights on C4 may do - I would rather watch the full race on catch-up though, as sometimes the highlights seem a bit disjointed.

I have been on 50% discount for the last few years. Each year going through a cycle of 3 or 4 calls from the retention team to finally get the 50%. This year I really had enough so just let it ride and we have not had sky for 3 weeks now. Its been fine, Netflix for most of the time. We will probably get a now tv pass for GOT... other than that screw em!
Sorry for this post. On holiday, on the sherbet and got the increase cost email for Sky Q. So, its going.
Just signed up a new land line, sorted.
We live in a very rural area, just ditched poor quality satellite broadband for a very effective 4GEE router.
So, Freedomsat or Freeview options with a Humax or similar? Looking at the Humax HDR-1100S. Already have Netflix.
I read that the LNB will have to be switched out on the new Sky Q dish to support either of the above options.
Going to have another beer, 22yrs a customer, untold deals in the past, bye-bye Sky.

I’m in the USA for another week so gave notice of cancellation yesterday by email. I reckon they’ll be trying to contact me on my landline but there’s nobody to answer it and no ansafone.
I’m currently paying £62.62 for tv including box sets, multi screen and sports. Also paying £43.19 for unlimited fibre broadband, line rental and unlimited calls.

I’ve just dumped Sky too. Had a package of Sky Q and fibre broadband and the last bill was nearly £150. Thing is I don’t even watch TV that much, so it’s all cancelled and I’m going to live a life of no live TV. I already have Netflix and Amazon Prime, so will just watch these in combination with the catch-up apps on my smart TV for other stuff. Gone with Vodafone for the fibre broadband as they were cheap.

Switch off day tomorrow and every chat offer i have had has been crap.
At least you have had offers!I was a Sky customer for just under twenty years. At the beginning of February this year we decided it no longer represented value for money given our viewing habits so I cancelled it all. It was shut off last week. Not once sine the time I arranged the cancellation has Sky contacted me with any offers at all. Shows how much they value long term loyal customers.

Out of interest is there Virgin in your street? I heard once from an alleged Sky employee that they did not offer tempting retention packages to people who they knew did not have Virgin in the area. No idea if there is any truth in that.I was a Sky customer for just under twenty years. Or maybe their stats show that customers who leave after 20 years are set on leaving and so they don't bother offering anything.
Still seems surprising to me that they didn't try anything.
