This link gave me best online offer for full package.
Thanks, that actually worked out cheaper than I am paying now as it seems the previous Sports HD 'pack' is now included as part of Sports. So have signed up via that link for another 12 months paying £40/month for TV whereas retentions could only offer £75/month. confused
All I could see was details of my current package and account details. The offers were add ons to what I have already.

Bad company give the account a day or 2 to allow it to catch up to cancelation.

Blue dot you can call and request to not have an engineer install. What I did a week ago. Online or on chat can’t arrange it.

Interesting, if I'd known that I'd have connected it myself! rolleyes

I gave notice by email on 11 March. They called the next day but I was driving in the USA so they arranged to call today. I called retentions this morning, they started saying the notice period should start from today but relented and agreed to cease Sky on 11 April.

Oddly they didn’t make any offers to try to tempt me to stay.
They seem to be tightening up on discounts. The days of 75% off are gone by the look of things.

Received letter today, back on live chat, explained I took several screen shots.

Not sure where I stand on my deal. Actually I think I do and I think I'm screwed.

So anyway, I'm on the half price deal that runs out next month but back in December I signed up for Sky Q but it was on a 18 month contract. Am I committed to paying full whack for the remaining period (14ish months)?

Only Sky Q Multiscreen carries a contract. The Sky Q equipment itself doesn't.

Have you had a letter recently saying they are changing their terms and conditions?

I got one a few days ago for the call charges.

Could use that to get out of the contract if you need.

Are you sure? They list early cancellation charges for both suggesting that Sky Q is also contracted for the term.

Can only do this with phone and broaband afaik. The TV increases were below the limit that allow you to leave.

Nope, not true.

Phoned up to cancel yesterday. As I took out a package, changes to any of it allow me to leave early. Has meant I could set a date as to when I wanted to leave, though it could have been immediate. 1st April! Also have to post back the Sky Q box to them. Think you need to do this whatever at the end of your contract.
I had been paying £35pm for fibre, phone and the basic sky package with a Q box.
Renewal in June was going to be £66, but they could get it for £45. Not worth it IMO.

And so, as this is a thread about people leaving sky, what next?

We have Netflix(which we use mostly), Amazon prime(rarely use).
But would be nice to have a good way of watching live TV as well.

Have tried the TVPlayer app on a fire stick, think its subscription is £7pm? Seems to work very well and a good range of channels, however can't pause, record rewind on it.

Are there any alternatives to this anyone has?

hdhomerun is good if you have an aerial and want to watch TV in multiple rooms
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Silicondust-HDHR5-2DT-HDH...

Worth bearing in mind you'll need a fire stick or similar on each TV to run the app.

We were paying £62.62 per month for tv, multiroom & sport. That was before the recent price hike so it would be £65.62. We were also paying £43.19 for Fibre Max broadband, line rental and unlimited calls so that would be £47.19 after the increase.

I cancelled tv completely and renewed the broadband and phones for £37 which I thought was a result.

We’re having Humax Freesat boxes installed to replace Sky tv. Think I may also get a Now tv box so I can buy a Sky sports pass when there’s a football match I want to pay for. Does anybody here have experience of Now tv?

I got rid of my Virgin recently... had weekend calls, big tv package (no sky premium channels) and 300gb internet but costing nearly £100 a month with extra V6 box upstairs. Ended up with Vodafone broadband and phone for £27, bought a recordable freeview box. The only channels I would really miss were the Discovery channels, but as I already had Amazon Prime I could add Discovery for £4.99 a month... so quite a saving.

And that's the problem sky are going to run into IMHO.

You can get quite a lot of their content via other suppliers on PAYG type situation.

Our Virgin deal is coming up for renewal this Saturday. We are on the equivilant of the VVIP package and looking to remove the Sky Movies/Sports channels and reduce the cost. We also have Netflix and Prime. I hope they are able to ofer the current bundle offer of 99 a month for a 12 month contract.

After 15+ years of cancelling only to be offered a big discount, I shot myself in the foot, so to speak.
Full Sky package for over 20 years, fibre and landline. All services ended today. I’ve been away with work so couldn’t even go grovelling earlier this week to say I’ve changed my mind and would they be good enough to apply the minimal discount they had offered.
So, got to find a new BB provider and sign up for SKY as a new customer. Family are not too pleased.
No phone or BB for 10 days !
Does anyone have a friends and family Sky discount code they are not using and would be kind enough to let me have ?

As a reference for you, we got offered the full shooting match in Virgin (full tv/4K bt sport/2nd box/350mbps Internet) for £79/m.

The best Sky could do me was £89/m for the equivalent package minus BT Sport.

Virgin beng installed in our area atm. BT contract is already up and just 2/3 more months till my Sky one is up, so will hopefully find a good deal with Virgin. Not paying £115/120 for both tv and internet anymore.
£99 for everything a month, including 2 tv boxes. My broadband speed should at a minimum get around 8x faster too.
