Has anyone looked at the new BT TV deal with NowTV?

I have BT internet and got a sales leaflet posted this morning - £60 a month all in. Everything - Sky movies, sports, the works. Quite impressive if you're in the market for it (compared to Sky's standard fees, I mean).

I cancelled ~2 weeks ago and got a call from retentions after a about a week.
I got offered a deal for £72 ( without Q). I said I’d think about it so arranged for a call back the next day. A different person phoned back and I settled on £73 inc Q 2TB and 1 mini box.
One thing I was helpfully advised on here a few years ago was to make sure your marketing settings allow them to contact you.
Good point about checking marketing settings beer

I was paying £77.99 per month. £40.99 for phone/broadband and another £37 for Sky Entertainment, HD and boxsets.

I have managed to get the broadband down to £27 a month, which I am happy with, as this is comparable to deals with other providers.

I am now moving on to TV. We hardly watch Sky any more now we have a smart TV with Netflix, Prime and YouTube built in. I am struggling to work out what extras I get with Sky compared to the £8.99 a month NowTV Entertainment pass offering?

£5 if you buy a NowTV gift voucher.

My sky bill has just gone up to £90 with no broadband, that's another £40 with virgin. Moving to a new build with super fast BT so having seen this offer I might take a chance on canceling sky. Been with then since 2004 but pretty much watch entertainment stuff and car programs. Netflix I get with sky but will just get that back on it's own like previously.

My worry is the sky q epg is quite slick and I have multi room but I cant keep paying north of £100

Be interested in people opinions of BT

As has been said before just say you're going to cancel and it will soon come down.

I pay £75 all inclusive, all TV channels, fibre max broadband.

My old HD+ box is getting very unreliable so I rang up Sky to cancel as they don't do the old HD+ boxes anymore and I did not want to pay more than my £49 for entertainment and the legacy F1.

They offered to give me a 1TB Q box FOC inc engineer visit (in April!).

Should I be sticking out for the 2 TB and a discount as well?

Apparently I am a Diamond level VIP - whatever that means, lol.

Does that £60 BT deal include your broadband? Seems a very good deal if so but I can't seem to find if it does?

TV?

Not great, we had it post Sky and it was ok but quite often would drop series links or just fail to record stuff

It uses a normal aerial so all freeview type channels come through that but anything else is over the broadband

With Virgin now and don't miss Sky at all

It doesn't. That's another £35 or so.

I am trying to cancel Sky, been waiting for a call back all day! I want to move to BT for £60 per month, currently have Sky Q with multi room and paying £90, I am guessing that the BT service won't have quite the same functionality.

Any advice on BT and how to cancel Sky without losing my sanity welcome.

I’ve been trying to cancel via their text service since 4pm yesterday and this is what I’ve had to deal with:

No reply at all yesterday
A reply today but the person won’t accept I’m leaving
The guy has to go to a ‘meeting’
The guy went for a break
The guy has to switch desks.

It’s not going well.

I did it via live chat, logged on bang on 9am, all done by 10am whilst I was at my desk working anyway.

I plan on doing the exact same, as BT has all the Sky offerings I need. The only slight catch is that IIRC BT can only record 2 channels at once, so would be dependent on +1 and/or catch-up.

I'd rather stay with Sky, but the 40% price delta is not incentive enough to stay.

I’ve tried that route and it keeps hanging. Will pick it up again tomorrow, lousy company probably suffer because of BTs latest deal.

When I got my latest deal I asked to speak to retentions not the cancellations team who I believe are separate given the choices I had.
Very happy with my deal as effectively my tv and q box are effectively free given I'm paying £36 with super fast bb and line rental.

Spent all morning on message they made a derisory offer after 2 hours of messing about, the made it a point of call offer which is rather ironic. I have left them hanging and now trying to confirm the finer points of the BT deal, HD, multi room etc

Sky are not good to deal with but they’re not alone

I got an email this morning to say that my broadband monthly cost was going up by £2 and TV by £3.20 (Box Sets package) from 1st April.

I expect they're going to get a lot more cancellation/re-negotiations calls over the next few days!
