Genuine question to those who don’t enjoy TGT...
Why do you watch it?
Do you want to like it but find it disappointing?
Do you enjoy not liking it?
Genuine questions. Why do you watch it?
Do you want to like it but find it disappointing?
Do you enjoy not liking it?
Why do you think that criticising a single episode means people "don't enjoy TGT"?
Why is it that there are so many people who cannot accept other's opinions on a single episode?
Why are so many of those criticising others doing it in such an aggressive way?
Why is it that anyone who uses the phrase "snowflake" automatically comes across as a moron?
- I guess it doesn't, but there must be a line between enough reason for criticism and not enjoying it? Is it not implicit that by continuing to watch it that you enjoy it? Or perhaps just enjoy criticising it?
- Standard PH/Internet. Everyone is wrong other than you (not you personally, just in general!)
- Keyboard warriors? Not rubbed one out in a while?
- Haven't followed that part of the thread. Perhaps ironic after question 3?
I have always liked Top Gear, I have enjoyed Grand Tour. I have always cringed when they have wrecked what look like half decent cars but accept that as part of the show. I know not all episodes will be top of the game, can be predictable, scripted etc etc. I enjoy it as an entertainment show and sometimes useful info about cars.
The 'special' I really struggled with. How did they get round the strict rules in place for animal welfare in TV and film. Than wasting fish by diesel smoking them!! For me seeing those fish in that putrid tank of water slowly suffocating was anything but entertaining, ruined what would have otherwise been a usual silly banter filled pisstaking of each other show that I enjoy.

I don't really have a problem with the fish that were already dead - as others have pointed out, the fishermen had probably been paid well for them, so it was just wastage at the worst. But, yes, like you I was rather uncomfortable with the slow snuff movie of James's Aquarium of Death, especially the shot of the fish gasping its last near the end.
fks sake, it's a few dead fish.
Unless you are vegan we all contribute a lot more to animal suffering every day of our lives than a few fish left over from the morning's catch.
Thought it was funny, it's a TV programme, entertainment, if you're not entertained, then don't bloody watch it again.
I've said it before, but the adenoidal car bore impression that Clarkson regularly does represents most people posting on this site/thread, you do realise that....

Fully accept that, however tv and film are supposed to follow strict guidelines re animal welfare for the purposes of entertainment. Not sure that was followed with this. Unless you are vegan we all contribute a lot more to animal suffering every day of our lives than a few fish left over from the morning's catch.

And normal everyday fish.To put in context - In todays news, scientists went to the bottom of the ocean, 4,800 metres down and grabbed 42,000 fish that are not used to being disturbed, hauled them out and killed to study them.
Some new to us and never seen before, could have made a species extinct for all we know.
Unfortunately eggs have to be broken to make omelettes, I imagine minimal fish were actually in May's tank alive.

Now we're in the long off season I hope all the hard of thinking can manage to understand that being disappointed with something and not fawning all over it at every opportunity doesn't amount to "h8ing" it.
fk me, how many times does that need explaining?
u okay hun?fk me, how many times does that need explaining?

It can be funny, this episode wasn't. Nothing to do with the fish.Unless you are vegan we all contribute a lot more to animal suffering every day of our lives than a few fish left over from the morning's catch.
