..and it was so bad it wasn't reported at the time it happened and they're confirming he is ok and has made a full recovery from the fall.Having watched and enjoyed the first 22 seasons of TG I watched all Of TGT and overall found it disappointing, especially after the brilliant pro-mo trailers.
I'm glad that the three of them are together again doing what they do best but I felt there was an element missing.
With the BBC gone and no longer hampering their efforts to make their own show the missing element seems to be that they had no one to rally against.
The inconsistent use of language seems to distance the show from the daft, Britishness that worked so well before and production values seemed to be somehow lacking which seemed odd given their collective experience and budget.
It's early days though and it was a big leap from the BBC so hopefully they'll get it together.

It was ok for a while but couldn't really sustain a series, even though I enjoyed most of it.
If they are going to bother to come back, they are going to have to forget a lot of the past and start with a clean sheet of paper.
My advice to them would be to get off the 'big production' treadmill and just make the programs they want to make. They might get big audiences, they might not. What's to worry about if you are as minted as they are.
May's incredibly simple series about putting stuff back together and Clarkson's documentaries show that they are really good at this stuff.

On TG and then TGT, they allowed themselves to become caricatures, and have been trapped by the need to play those roles ever since, without letting the veil slip. It means that they have to engineer almost every situation so that JC can be a shouty oaf, JM can be grown-up, anal and irritated and RH can be short and needy. If they are going to bother to come back, they are going to have to forget a lot of the past and start with a clean sheet of paper.

In real life, people react to different situations in different ways. On TGT they don't. They always react in the same way, regardless. It makes for repetitive watching and ham-fisted scripting which, it seems, doesn't always sit well with those actually playing the parts.
I therefore agree with Swisstoni's advice. Not that they will pay any attention to it..
the friendship and relationship between the three of them is probably more an attraction than some of the Cars and its developed over many years. I enjoyed watching them together again but if I am honest I have really gone off watching most Cars shows now other than Jay Leno's show. Time for a rethink for most of them.
Finally got round to watching some of this. Just finished the first episode.
My fiancée and I enjoyed it.
I did chuckle at the celebrity bit because I like the silly stuff.
Clarkson leaving the DRS button pressed down on the P1 was interesting.
Will see how the series progresses. To me, it was so much like the old TG without the name. Worth a watch.

Confusing bump is confusing. Is there a new TGT out?My fiancée and I enjoyed it.

If you think the celeb-death skit was funny the first time...Do come back when you've seen it for the 12th time and let us know what you think. Personally, they should have dropped it from show 2 on-wards and had it only in show 1 as a sort of dig at the old show and and a nod to being free from the shackles of having to plug someones crummy book/film/album.My fiancée and I enjoyed it.

All downhill from there; the first one is pretty good but then they stuck with the same jokes well past the point where they'd flogged them to death and they filmed some really stupid segments. Some episodes are watchable if you skip through to the good bits, some of them are utterly worthless.
Maybe the next series will be better but I'm not sure I'll bother.

I have just acquired the means to watch it. Didn't bother with it when it came out, but remembered about it yesterday.

Indeed. Or perhaps stopped after 3 and said "We'd better stop now before more people die". It might have worked then. But to doggedly stick with it for the whole series didn't really work for me. Perhaps at the start of the next series they'll say their insurance for celebs is now too high and they can't afford to have any more on.
I rather suspect they will stick with it though. Still, at least it is only a couple of minutes.

It's not the same for them anymore. They aren't as natural or enjoying themselves like they used to. TGT has gone quiet. I've not bothered to go back and watch any of the episodes again and I haven't seen much posted about the TGT either.
Hopefully the next series improves from the last series.
