Lady Marylebone usually enjoys watching TGT/Top Gear, and she loved the old Special episodes from Top Gear, but she was actually disgusted at this one, to the point of being quite annoyed that they pretty much made a mockery of poor people in Mozambique and deliberately wasted a load of fish that could actually have fed people.
Bet she is a hoot at a party..she needs to grow a sense of humour and stop being a ....what are they called these days? ah yes snowflake..it's a fecking TV programme made for entertainment not a bloody documentary getting very fed up with all this PC nonsense these days...Edited by briang9 on Sunday 18th February 00:16

Last episode was very poor. The premise was good but the execution was below par. Something vaguely distasteful about 3 wealthy men taking the piss out of failing to feed the poor.
Just watched it and not surprised to see this is the general view. I wouldn't even say 'vaguely' distasteful - it was distasteful.I don't think I'll be bothering with any subsequent series, I'll be working out whether Prime has saved me enough in postage to warrant keeping it but if not I'll get shot of it.
The irony of all of this is that about XX million people (insert GT viewing figures) have now heard of Bingo and, for a goodly percentage, Mozambique where previously they hadn't. In terms of raising awareness of issues that is pretty good.
For those complaining about "food wastage" you'd better not have a look in the skip behind your average supermarket in the UK. There is more thrown away daily in one of those than that whole film.
If you want to really open your eyes google Otter Trawl Discards and Bycatch. Or corruption in Africa. Or indeed look into any of the 'big' issues presented by a mediocre film. Including myopia.

Genuine question to those who don’t enjoy TGT...
Why do you watch it?
Do you want to like it but find it disappointing?
Do you enjoy not liking it?
I enjoy it but it just sort of feels like it jumped the shark years ago. There were a few episodes this series that I genuinely enjoyed, but they tended to be when they took a break from trying too hard to be funny. Why do you watch it?

Yes it is. Moet was German.
Dutch, surely. In any event there are many far nicer Champagnes.
There are also not many far nicer Champagnes, Moët probably has the best quality control out there in terms of maintaining the flavor of its NV champagnes, whilst it’s vintage Dom Perignon is without question at the top end.
Dom is indeed one of the very best. I never enjoyed Moet's style as much as others. I stopped drinking completey about ten years ago, but always preferred Roederer and my wife Cliquot of the NVs. My wife tells me that the best value for money (all relative!) at the moment is to be found in the small growers champagne. They're harder to find, and probably won't age and improve as well over the years as the big houses NV - but, as they say, "are drinking well now".

I don't see many comments referring to the die-hard fans as snowflakes or oxygen thieves.
Just ones saying that if they liked a particular item or episode of TGT then they must love Mrs Brown's Boys and similar lowbrow unfunny shows RBH58 said:

I take it for what it is, I know what I’m going to get.

Why would I set out to waste an hour of my life?
It was rubbish, awkward and a waste of food. The whole series has been up and down, some great episodes, good bits and some crap ones. Personally I think they should ditch this trip abroad thing as it's just repetitive and dull.
At least I've watched all the episodes this time, I didn't even bother finishing off the last one. I don't think i'd pay for it.
Brilliant, watches it on pirate and then has the nerve to complain about it. It was rubbish, awkward and a waste of food. Why do you think that criticising a single episode means people "don't enjoy TGT"?
Why is it that there are so many people who cannot accept other's opinions on a single episode?
Why are so many of those criticising others doing it in such an aggressive way?
Why is it that anyone who uses the phrase "snowflake" automatically comes across as a moron?
Not sure I enjoyed the last episode, they seem to be running very short on ideas, which is understandable considering how long they've been doing it, but rather than 3 friends going to do something they want to, it feels more like it was a chore, and that came across on the show this time.
Compare that with the TG Vietnam tour and they're chalk and cheese.
Shame, because the rest of the series was quite good.

Awareness of the above is EXACTLY the audience the special was pitched at, without getting all serious about it.For those complaining about "food wastage" you'd better not have a look in the skip behind your average supermarket in the UK. The whole thing looks like it was done on a shoestring budget - about a 100th of the cost to send a load of 'aid workers' there (half of whom would be celebs helicoptering in and back out for their publicity shoot, and the rest being 'willing volunteers' taking advantage of the lack of law and order and scrutiny or their extra-curricular activities).
There's been a lot of knowing irony in this series of TGT. Had that show gone out on the BBC we would be putting up with Lily Allen (the true barometer of hypocritical political correctness) having something to say about it right now.

I'm not very up to date but how many Syrian refugees did her (and Geldof) end up taking in? She'd look like a bit of a tit if the answer was none so I'd imagaine its bus loads The whole thing looks like it was done on a shoestring budget - about a 100th of the cost to send a load of 'aid workers' there (half of whom would be celebs helicoptering in and back out for their publicity shoot, and the rest being 'willing volunteers' taking advantage of the lack of law and order and scrutiny or their extra-curricular activities).

I quite enjoyed it. The terrible waste of fish was pointless and poor taste.
I'd wager that the average family in the U.K. throws away more food than the fish wasted. Hammond had about 20, May I think 5, Clarkson's was crap, for example the large Dorado didn't actually make it into his pickup i'd guess returned so as precisely not to be wasteful. The issue of Western world food wastage is truely in poor taste and yet the fact that millions of households do it isn't blinked at. However do it on TV, in Africa, and suddenly its is distasteful.
Provoking no? Who'd have thunk it from 3 middle aged blokes. Perhaps they are cleverer than they let on.

If you haven't been keeping up, the more intelligent of PH decided quite some time ago that you tried to insult someone by throwing the term 'Snowflake' around, you were quite simply a moron with a lack of debating ability. No one anything about Politcal Correctness, just simply that they found the episode somewhat tasteless, of poor quality, and seemingly lacking in effort or thought.
What they did could have been edited into a 30 minute segment in a regular episode.
It was just so disappointing compared to the Specials they have done in the past.
I don't expect anything from TGT other than entertainment and some laughs, because that's what it is, but sometimes it has sadly been too bad for even that.
I speak as someone who has always enjoyed CHM on Top Gear, happily paid for the 1st series, and have mostly really enjoyed the 2nd series and look forward to the 3rd series.

But they shouldn't be. There are 195 countries in the world, and hundreds of ways they could circumvent any of them. The specials, with the odd exception, have always been brilliant. Think Vietnam, The North Pole Hilux, Bolivia. All masterpieces. This was unimaginative badly scripted cliched dross.
