Porter, as you may or may not know also owns SniffPetrol. A site that I really liked when it first started. Then when the same old, same old, jokes over and over, I stopped bothering with it. Disappeared up it's own arse. We know it's not fun to spend time in the company of people who think their hilarious or cutting edge when they simply aren't.
And also a PHer. He's probably reading.
I'd never bothered watching the Sniff and Smith vids before, spent the last few days watching the vids on the Smith and Sniff channel. I find them amusing personally, they'd possibly be better as a podcast than a YT vid imo.

Alfa GTV6 I think. More of them around it seems than the standard Alfetta it's also more a Clarkson of a car as he'll think he's James Bond rushing to defuse a nuclear bomb. - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alfa_Romeo_Alfetta

Pretty sure he used to own one.

Is it going to be one episode a month for 13 months? That's st. Longer than Project Binky updates.

Yes that’s why I included the bit where he wrote “for the second time in my life”

I can't wait for it. I really don't understand the hate it keeps getting.

In a sea of jungle celebrities, singing nobodies, baking (or cooking) blandness, moronic people watching even more moronic people watching TV and dancing daftness, I welcome anything that has even the slightest car based interest involved.

Given how us petrol heads are all branded Satan incarnate for ruining the planet, its nice for motoring to be celebrated for once. Even if it is 3 old blokes doing some scripted arse-ing about. It might be crap at times, but it isn't the kardashian family.

Don't take it so seriously and don't over analyse it, you may just enjoy it for a bit. If not, plenty of other stuff out there.
There’s a reason this little motoring show became unfeasibly successful and a big seller around the world.
You can try and recreate it all you like (see latter day Top Gear (and 5th Gear from day one hehe) and you are left with a little motoring show again.
Clarkson is unique, loved, hated, but compelling in ways that cannot be replicated.
I quite liked the episode of Women Talking About Cars on Radio 4 I heard the other day - was actually rather refreshing.

Fortunately, there is a Youtube full of good car stuff. I'd like to see a panel discussion between Jay Leno,Doug DeMuro and Harry Metcalf, ideally done by following the three of them around Pebble Beach discussing the quality of the bakerlite used on a particular steering wheel.

What a cracking 3 minutes entertainment that would be.

It is interesting how good ideas take 10-15 years to catch on. In the early days of the internet, one of the key future trends was said to be the ability to multicast to a geographically disparate group of like-minded people in ways that made economic sense when conventional broadcast TV didn't (on account of being geographically focussed).

Finally the internet has caught up with its own potential - car-related content is a great example of stuff that doesn't make sense on conventional TV but works well in this format.

Others might be disappointed if they were hoping for a photo that wasn't over a year old.

Crossed wires. Have they said the whole season will take that long to come out? I was sure the last season came out one a week for about 2 months?

Good idea.

The tent stuff seems too forced and stage managed. On the road they do seem to be in their natural habitat and it makes for a better program.

In my opinion of course.

Interesting my mate was there a couple of days ago said they had been sworn to secrecy about something.

I’ve asked him if that was the secret he said yes. Apparently they all got very emotional.

The Sun is claiming this is the last season today.

Maybe these are some specials after S3 ends.
