Some people like something smart, respectable, but anonymous (and usually German). Some people like something like the Exorcist. Different strokes.

I know all that, but there's fun and there's embarrassingly childish.
That is literally the point of this kind of car.

Good episode that. They all need to loose some weight though, even Hammond. Clarkson’s belly is mostly wine and beer. He looks in really bad shape.

Or just taking yourself a little bit too seriously. Its a TV entertainment programme which you can choose not to watch.
It is totally refreshing to have a non PC programme
It's got fk all to do with the tv programme.

Well I’m 38 and I would happily drive around in ‘The Exorcist’.

Because... look at it.
Don't get me wrong; I think it looks fantastic.

It's just got a stupid name and naff graphics, that's all smile

A couple of us have been accused in this thread of ‘bhing’, fat shaming, being jealous and all that, just because we simply noticed quite how big Clarkson was.

But genuinely my thoughts were that he looked desperately unhealthy.

I will repeat that I don’t think Clarkson cares one jot about what someone like me thinks.

The Dodge would be my pick of the muscle cars. I love the drag kit. Did they say what it can do the 1/4 mile in? And could you get super high octane fuel over here?
I think the best was 9s but your everyday driver is still looking at 10s which is very quick.

As for the guy who thinks Exorcist is childish, FFS, it's a breath of fresh air to see evocative names like Challenger, Charger, Demon, Hellcat, Mustang, Corvette etc to combat the personality by-pass merchants in their thrilling German alpha-numeric entitled, acronym festooned silver barges. They'd pinch Spitfire and Hurricane if someone let them.

Don't get me wrong, I am no fan of massively stupid wings for show or embarrassingly noisy boy racer exhausts (loud not stupid loud) but that ZL1 looks pretty reserved to me.

It didn't say the car was childish, and neither did I moan about what it looks like. I also didn't even mention Challenger, Charger, Demon, Hellcat, Mustang or Corvette.

I just said Exorcist is a stupid name and the graphics look crap.

Note to everyone: By all means slag me off for having a different opinion to you, but have the decency to READ WHAT I fkING WROTE first.

The whole post wasn't aimed at you but Exorcist is in the same vein as those cited.

As for the graphics, followers of American muscle car history will know they ape the famous Yenko Camaro graphics.

Good to see the boys back, that was great fun.

Don’t necessarily want to re-start the argument from earlier in this thread, but...is clarkson having triplets?

As a man of similar years I can categorically state the correct term is "relaxed stomach muscle"

Yeah, OK, now I've actually watched it, the graphics are a bit crap. smile

Anyway, what a brilliant episode. Great content, solid wall to wall cars, no CGI and no sub cretin jokes or juvenile humour, just proper banter. Really enjoyed it.

TG suddenly seems stilted and dull.

Excellent episode, now I want a muscle car and to go to Detroit...

Clarkson' had to give up smoking and said he put on a ton of weight afterwards, guess they were in Detroit soon after he gave up!

What a great episode, thoroughly enjoyed that. Well done chaps.

Pretty astonishing the amount of performance you can get for a relatively modest amount of cash. Good old America.
