The Grand Tour
Discussion
Definitely the best one they’ve done, if this continues then they’ve found their stride, just as it moves to specials only.
The Mustang was the o lay car that made sense for me, as it was actually useable in real life compared to one that runs on unobtanium liquid gold and the other needed rebuilding to do the really silly stuff.
Clarkson and May might not care about their appearance, but their health should be something they consider. Both are in serious need of some moderation in their lives. I speak as an ex-smoker who ballooned to 16 stone and is now struggling to shed it, despite cycling 20-30 miles daily.
For those of you slating Detroit, it’s not all crumbling factories. It has huge problems, but the sheer size of the city means large swathes can effectively be abandoned and a new bit developed. We struggle with that concept as a small island.
I did chuckle listening to Clarkson’s rant about the urban farming bit and thought how many PHers worship at his altar. He k own he’s a parody of what he once was, many on Ph, especially in NP&E seem to act like that as a badge of honour.

The Senna lap time was astonishing
I may be wrong but I can't remember another car destroying the lap times of other super Cars.I wonder who came to the design team and said "I have a couple of pieces of glass doing nothing any chance you could use them".
Does the glass in the doors perhaps help the vision on the corners?
Well, sorry to rain on your parade, but I thought that this episode was rather a disappointment. The 3 muscle cars were good, but the segment was too long and ruined by the stupid 'noise and doughnut' session, which doubtless appealed to the Corsa-kids-in-Aldi-carpark viewers. The individual runs through the race course didn't add much either. The final aerodrome drag race was good, but could have been better if Hammond had been made to repeat the session with the Dodge in 'street' configuration.
The Senna is pretty ugly, but that segment was pretty good - especially Abbey's astonishing lap.
As for the presenters, yes, Clarkson and May appear to be competing for their first coronaries - and Hammond's waistcoat was also struggling at times.
I enjoy fast cars and good banter, but on this showing The Grand Tour has lost its gloss.
Sorry....

I enjoyed it. Senna piece was good, it really is an engineering masterpiece thoroughly race car bred. MD of company that I work next too has one in black and was out washing it the other day. It vibrated the whole warehouse once it fired up. He has a number of supercars, but the Senna was on of the loudest.
I enjoyed the musclecar bit, although May pushing the oil over at the end seemed to spoil it a bit. I prefer the Demon I think, but if it was my own money and UK ownership the Mustang is the only one that actually makes sense. The exorcist seems a half done effort just tuning the engine and nothing else.
Even the tent segment seemed fine now, cutting out all the fat. Just a little chat, and the England cricket captain joke was probably the best joke I've heard in a while, not something that could happen in the new proposed style for next season.
It will be missed when they go to long trip 'specials' only in the future. I wonder if the tent is a loss leader for them, although they must get a lot in ticket sales, the setup and staff involved may offset the income. It goes away from the Top Gear TV style setup and probably suits streaming TV more.

The Senna looks like a kit car but was amazingly quick.
The Senna got a lot of criticism for its styling, missing the point that it was a function over form exercise. So if it hadn't turned out to be bloody quick, that would have been a complete failure.Muscle Cars: I liked Mays Camaro best, probably without the graphics though.
Senna: He hinted the P1 was faster, harder, edgier. He didn't really comment on the looks of it, which I feel was interesting. And whilst a 9kg door is very impressive, I have no idea what to compare that with It actually looks under wheeled and under tyred though. They at least name checked Abbie which was important I feel
Conversation bit : OK
Detroit. Not all of the place is run down remember. If you went to Londons Docklands in the late 70s early 80s you'd never imagine what it would be in 2019. So it just needs a concerted effort to do something with it

...wtf is going on with mays rotting teeth! I don’t expect American white but black rot is unforgivable
What has been seen cannot....I actually agree with the Guardians article when it says they have found their rhythm for the show now. It felt OK, they didn't labour the jokes too much (aside from the Dodge rebuild a the end) and felt relatively natural.

Tickets to see Top gear be recorded have always been free, so assume TGT is also freeSuprised there isn't any merchandise for TGT, think they have done a book but that's it. I know TG had the stig but there was absolutely tons of stuff available to buy, to make a few extra quid for the BBC.

The only thing bad with the GT is the test track, it's not exactly exciting for the viewer unlike the TG one
Isnt the Top Gear track gone now ? building houses on it or something like that. I often wondered why not just attach the show to a proper track plenty of them about SydneyBridge said:

It's not a given. Tickets to BBC shows are free "due to the unique way the BBC is funded".Amazon is under no such restrictions - there is nothing to stop them from charging what they want. I have no idea if they do charge though.

Free as well, think you have to be a prime member to apply thought so technically not free. Amazon is under no such restrictions - there is nothing to stop them from charging what they want. I have no idea if they do charge though.
