You should probably give TG another go. The last two seasons were great. Chris Evans was the problem.

I guess I'm in the tiny minority who enjoy both TG and TGT in their current forms then laugh

Nope, I do as well. Although I think it's a shame Matt Le Blanc is leaving. I'm not fan of Rory, but each to their own. Overall I'm content to watch both and will continue to do so for the time being.

exactly how I feel, but I also find JC a predictable bore now and watch despite him, the cars and cinematography are always enjoyable

I watch both as well.

TG is still the better show, but TGT started off well this time.

Rory is getting pushed out when the new team arrive. He will be back to Extra Gear.

Ah, I'm the other way, I prefer TGT. The 1st series was pretty poor (but I found TG of that era even worse) S2 of TGT was better, especially the 2nd half, bar the final episode, TG was better then, but still preferred TGT.....S3 has started really rather well.

I prefer the last 2 series to TG to the first 2 series of TGT... In fact couldn't be bothered with the last episode of TGT S2.

I'm not a big fan of American cars but the opening episode was excellent. The muscle cars were impressive but to me, without the US backdrop, culture and big roads, they'd be a waste hear.
Hopefully it's a return to form but I've thought that before only for mindless self indulgence to return...we will see.
I agree with the guy who said it would be interesting to hear what Abbie thought about the car she'd just put round the track, how it compared to some of the others etc.

Next 2 episodes, a Colombia special, are being released on consecutive nights. Friday and Saturday.

bounce

Looking forward to that, the specials are usually their best output by far.

I enjoyed this one. I was selective about which episodes of TGT S2 I watched, probably do the same with this season, the more car focused ones are usually enjoyable - the personality ones less so.

I like James May as a presenter, but he really didn't look good, none of them did.

+1 The cars are the stars and the only reason I watch. I actually prefer the TG presenters to Clarkson and co who are just turning into a parody of Last of the Summer Wine and History Today.

You know that gristly piece of rancid pork fat covered in grey pubes that you might find on the floor of an old people’s trip to an all-you-can-gum Harvester carvery. That’s you, that is, Mr Clarkson.

Even better if you said you hadn't watched it and won't be watching it.
