if you start from the View point of not wanting to like it or not really getting it why bother. It is just a piece of fun TV I enjoy it because it still has a "non PC " feel about it. I can remember all the Top Gear variations going back far too long and I enjoyed them all except the latest edition when they tried to copy the format of Clarkson, Hammond and May.

I would give the first Columbian episode 5/10 at best, however I would rather watch that on an endless loop until the day I die than most of the drivel that is on TV these days...looking forward to episode 2, hoping it might be a 6/10..then my endless loop will be complete thumbup

Well I liked it. The donkey part was... unexpected hehe and as far as the cars go I'm hoping the Panda makes it. Clarkson would have had a Range Rover but he's had one before, Hammond's monster truck is ridiculous hehe

First episode is in a par with the beach buggy stuff from the earlier season.

I did let out a proper chuckle at “It looks like a badger having a massive poo.” Though.

Pretty dire to be honest. I appreciste making tv is probably hard, but if it’s just going to be a poor rehash or old stuff, why bother?

Oh I forgot

Given a choice between watching Mrs Brown's Boys and Grand Tour, GT would win every single time.

It kept me mildly amused, and nobody made me watch some bigoted, 70's era non-comedy, so I consider my life slightly better for having watched it.

It's entertainment, no more no less.

However, live WRC on ice covered French single-track roads is better than GT.

Enjoyed both parts, not the best ever but still better than most things on TV. Not quite sure what people expect after nearly 20 years of making the show, there are only so many new ideas!

Second part was better than the first. It was half decent.

It really should have been one episode rather than stretching it out into two. It wouldn't have been so thin on content then.

Hammonds little ladder made me and my 12yo son chuckle.......
slightly more awkward when it came to the donkey scene though eekbiggrin
Scenery looks stunning in 4K too, but as previously mentioned it is a bit "samey".

'old up - how did you cats get the second part - it wasn't available for me last night...?

[Review: mildly amusing familiar ground which although not cutting edge is strangely comforting and better than most of the dire stuff on the box.]

I say this as a fan of Clarkson...Pleas sort your health out because you won’t be around much longer if you don’t frown
I mean all three of them need to seriously loose weight, but Clarkson is not right.
I honestly hope they don’t drink themselves to an early death.

I liked it, it is what it is. A bit of dicking around and some cars, even the predictable episodes are more enjoyable than anything on the Tele. And to the poster above who says it's all about money, of course it is, who works for free? If people don't like it I can't imagine why they watch it, unless it's purely so they can come on here and complain

Part 2 was up about 10:30 last night. It was much better than the 1st. I agree with an earlier poster that some tighter editing and that could have been one 70min type episode of better quality than two 60mins with too much padding.

If you’re watching this, you’ve got amazon prime and terrestrial tv and probably Netflix.

Are you honestly saying that you think this is better than everything else on all of those?

I like cars, and I like light-hearted entertainment, so yes that is precisely what I'm saying
