Agree, I found it funny. Anyone who gets offended at a car being referred to as gay, eating a ice-cream etc clearly has other issues themselves.
They are not ridiculing gays, they are making light jokes just the same as they do with other cultures.
I don't think CHM are for the easily offended. They are not ridiculing gays, they are making light jokes just the same as they do with other cultures.
I found a few of the gay jokes smirkworthy... it was the political ones that I found boring. They weren't just not funny, they were the antithesis of funny, anti-funny if you will. I found most of the antics to be quite boring compared to previous specials, I mean driving an heavy car across a rickety looking bridge has been done to death.
The only saving grace of the episode was:

Quite an astonishingly varied country..I had no idea.

i had no idea how beautiful the country was.
Colombia has been a destination of mine for 5 years, it really is an astonishing place full of astounding beauty and wonderful people. Biggest issue is that most people will not speak a word of English. This is changing as the civil war is over and tourism is opening up. FourWheelDrift said:

Only it wasn't that. It was "Gay people drive Jeeps like that due to the association with 'Queer as Folk'. That means you're gay. Ha, ha, you're gay. It's embarrassing to be called gay. Ha ha". Insulting someone's manliness by saying they're gay. Oh, my sides hurt with the Swiftian humour of it.
Having said that, scratching a cock & balls on the back of Hammond's car never gets old.
I must say I don't really get the point with these adventure episodes. The format is identical every time. The first few were good back in a distant past. Surely they can do something about the country they're in, find some old or new racing legend or something, instead of watching three guys driving along some roads or watching three guys standing in a field arguing about something. It's like watching three guys in a glass bubble who are completely oblivious to what's going on around them. There is more to the world than Jeremy Clarkson as strange as that might seem. And ideally do something positive instead of trying to find ways to annoy the locals so they start to shoot at you (Argentina, American South).
Anyways, it was watchable and there were a few funny bits but overall it's so so so so old. I guess it works for many seeing as they keep churning out the same stuff. I think it's slipping further down my priority list, though.

They’re making loads churning out the same stuff, you can’t blame them for sticking with it.Anyways, it was watchable and there were a few funny bits but overall it's so so so so old. They’ve got a target audience and this is exactly what they like. Read the comments on this thread. Best thing on tv etc.

Does anyone else find it frequently stopping to buffer? I watch it on a system with Ethernet connection direct to the router and 80mb FTTH connection. The kids are in bed so I'm the only one online.
Only happens of grand tour. I watched a film on prime last night and it was fine.
We have that problem too. We've got a 15-20 mb connection (the bloody Amazon app even tells me that when I start watching something) and then for no reason it drops down to 1-2 mb and keeps buffering. Never happens with Netflix or YouTube. Very irritating indeed.Only happens of grand tour. I watched a film on prime last night and it was fine.
And now that you mention it, I'm not sure it happens with anything other than TGT. I watched a film the other night and it was fine and my wife was watching something earlier today and that had no issues either. Strange, but glad it's not just us!
4k tv takes a lot of bandwidth - most of these dongles are wifi only.
Luckily we had the foresight to flood fill cat6 when we bought the place so the tv is hardwired to the network - never had a single drop out and it's crystal clear from 3 seconds in roughly.
use the amazon app on a Samsung Q7FN

It works for me on a Samsung TV Amazon app over WiFi.
The TV's right above a network switch, but it's worked well enough that I've not bothered to thread ethernet through that few feet of wall, the access point is on another floor. That said, still a good call to check what it's like wired in.

Why are the people who were employed by Amazon specifically to produce exactly the same kind of enormously popular content they used to produce for the BBC still producing exactly the same kind of enormously popular content they used to produce for the BBC instead of doing something niche and experimental? I just can't understand it.

Yes, they could get a cricketer to present it or something.lauda said:

Yes, I mentioned it a few pages back. On my 50mb FTTC is was really struggling on Friday night with buffering. I contacted Amazon via the phone app about the issue and when watching the second part on Saturday is was sorted, albeit at a lower resolution.Only happens of grand tour. I'm not sure if Amazon have enough bandwidth for TGT to be honest.
Due to it being an amazon show jezza and gang basically advertise cameras and stuff you can order off the amazon site
and the car arriving wrapped in plastic is some sort of dream from 10 years ago before we decided excess plasic wrapping is wrong.
Not quite terrible but not a patch on say the bbc top gear bolivia trip. Its only the fact that im finally sick of the repeats
on Dave that I want to see how they are getting along.
They seem to have an army of ex military onboard wherever they go. I imagine a gonzo phone shot show by them would be wildly more entertaining.
