Mrs Browns Boys is a shining example of why the BBC License fee needs abolishing. Another steaming turd of a BBC sit-com which isn't funny yet rolls on year after year.

Back on topic, I belatedly finished TGT Series 3 last night and the Ford episode. Brilliant - absolutely loved it. Will now start catching up with the latest adventures.

I also like the current series of Top Gear. People like to knock it, but I've found the episodes so far funny with a good balance of reviews and larking around.

That's probably too much positivity for a Pistonheads thread on a Monday morning, so apologies for that!

Don't worry, the positivity was outweighed by your (correct, in my opinion) sentiments on Mrs Brown's Boys.

I must confess I also think the latest series of Top Gear is worth a watch. I still prefer the older episodes with CHM, but this is certainly worthy of a watch.

In the mean time, I've been watching Top Gear (I've watched them all apart from the Chris Evans series), last nights episode had me in stitches in several places.
I think I must be abnormal.

I've enjoyed plenty of TGT and TG episodes (and not enjoyed some others), but I can't recall many (any?) instances where they've "had me in stitches". The humour is pretty basic, repetitive and telegraphed at best. It doesn't stop me enjoying either, but I can't say I'd genuinely describe them as "hilarious".
You know what, I have finally found one of those instances where TGT/TG "had me in stitches".

Catching up on the current TG series on iPlayer, and came across the convertible episode. I was actually laughing out loud at the segment on the driving range.

So there you go. I was wrong to say "any".

My late mother was inexplicably the only fan I met. She was an Oxbridge educated QC who otherwise favoured opera and Country file.
Late father loved it as well.
I mean I know this is the Grand Tour topic but I too don't know anyone who overtly admits to watching Mrs Brown's Boys.

Many people will gladly state their political viewpoint and it might well cost them friendships/relationships or just part a certain marker on them on online forums.

but nobody admits to watching Mrs Brown.
Is mrs browns a bbc funded production? I just assumed it was an Irish thing they had ‘bought’ to show.

I only know one person who like it, my friends wife. Even before this it was a running joke she didn’t like comedy. This confirms it.

Clarkson and Wilman did a YouTube live chat last night for about half an hour, which very much suggested that a new episode of the Grand Tour is coming ‘soon’ - but no firm date other than it has all been filmed and they’re doing their best to edit it during lockdown. Back to cars not boats though.

Also mentioned about the episode they were about to film which had to be postponed because of the restrictions in place.

I won’t give any spoilers away but it’s there if people want to watch it.

Been saying for some time their was only going to be 3 Series of TGT. We now seem to have been lied to about the regularity of the post tent Specials.

A'm oot.

Did you actually watch the video?

There isn’t some sort of conspiracy about it, it’s just a TV programme.

Exactly - there is a Madagascar special being finished off - Willman had CV, so he’s been a bit busy. They said that making more international journey car shows was pretty tricky right now, but they plan to be back. Seems pretty reasonable to me.

Why do I need to watch the video to know I was right about just 3 Series and the lack of supposed post Tent specials?

There are only 3 series of tent specials, and how have we been lied to? If they are your reasons for not watching it, I think that's ridiculous laugh

How dare they make the specials they said they'd do! rofl

If they hurry up with the finished one they can really pull in some viewing figures. If it comes after a lockdown people will be so glad to be out they will ignore it.

Because there are regular post-tent specials, but this coronavirus malarkey has delayed them beyond what anyone could have predicted?

And the video gives you some updates on just that.

Not in the video directly but he does mention ‘filming’
In his Instagram/Twitter a fair bit so I assume it’s still going ahead.

You were right??? You didn’t know anything that everybody else didn’t know. Clarkson and co only signed up for three seasons and that was widely reported at the time. Clarkson himself then said in the final episode that it was the end of TGT as we know it but they would continue with a few specials. We have had one special already, another is just about ready to be aired and another is being planned for when the CV restrictions are lifted.
What exactly are you boasting about knowing that nobody else did?

Never properly watched any of these, but just started now. S1 E1, first segment the 3 hypercars against each other was pretty good.

There is one utterly crap episode in the first series where they keep resetting in a warzoney kind of setting, skip that one!
Actually most of the first series was a bit hit n miss as they tried to work out what worked and what didnt with their unlimitted budget. It does get better though
