Nice Capri. Looks like it isn't on the road though as it hasn't been taxed. Same with the bubble car the other week.

The "Timbo" brakes were a bit cringeworthy.

I must admit, I find Tim a bit too cringe at times but I'm sure there are / would be people who'd dislike any one of us, were we in his place. He's infinitely better than those 3 tits on Goblin Worst Garage anyway! I hate that program with a passion.

I've met Fuzz a couple of times and seen his work for myself, so I know it's nicely done. I also enjoyed a thread on FaceBook (a rare occurrence in itself!) where he called out some of the haters and proved their bullst untrue. I also like the idea of deserving people being gifted something so special. I shed a genuine tear most episodes and genuinely look forward to new episodes. I'm just off to try and find the Capri one now.

Anyone see how Goblin ruined a 280 Brooklands? My God. Actually, it transpired the car was built by another company and they simply took the credit.

I love the show, as for Tim’s credentials, WIKIPEDIA Tim Shaw, an interesting read (especially, at the end of 2006 Shaw interviewed Kitty Hart- Moxton). As for Fuzz Townsend, there is no doubt he is a lover of all things omnibus and all things car related, as well being more than a bit handy with the spanners and a hell of a lot more.

The segments with Tim blagging, seems not popular on this thread, you want car programs accept it. Now we have WRC, F1 (which we always had) TG, TGT, Fast n Loud and Car SOS and many more. These need to appeal to the masses. Back in the 70’s we were lucky if we had a bit of Rally-cross on a Saturday afternoon and the RAC rally once a year. Now we have a plethora of them, with differing degrees of success.

If in doubt, check out car SOS, Car SOS S03E02 Awesome Audi, a genuine petrol head, and two people who are genuinely in to all things automotive, "Give it some beans"

What more do you want!

I've never understood the hate for Tim, I think people take it far too seriously and I like him even more now!

I think it’s because he cheated on his wife she found out and sold his brand new Lotus Esprit V8 for £0.36 (back when he was a radio DJ).

But fidelity issue aside from what he’s done on tv it’s great fun.

Fuzz his music is well - a required taste.

I think it’s because he cheated on his wife [and an irrelevant anecdote].
No, it's because he acts like a tit. If it's not supposed to be taken seriously, how come so many viewers are bawling by the end of each episode?

So an episode of Car SOS is 100% serious and no other emotions are conveyed or enjoyed?
Riiiight.

Of course I do. However, I am able to apply objectivity, and decide for myself what is entertaining, and what is low-cost filler.

The amount of whinging that goes on here about various car programs, do you not recognise they need to appeal to the masses.

It’s simple, the format brings in the viewers, viewers equal a program. If we followed the recipe of some on here, we would have nothing to watch. I’m sure on youtube, you can fill your boots.

Mrs. DG loves TG, TGT, and to a lesser extent CAR SOS. Why, because she is a car geek, no! She likes them because, they appeal to a wider appeal to a wider audience.

CAR SOS is now on season 6, so I guess they got the format right.
