Car SOS - how good are their restorations?
Discussion
Going to have to agree with previous posts. That was hard work to watch, the britpart blagging was bad enough but before that sketch britpart employees were working on that car wearing their t shirts.
To be fair I used to be the britpart freight account manager for TNT back in the day and was there once a month, it's an awesome place and do restorations themselves to the highest standard.

From the Westgate Classic website...
How many hours will a full restoration take?
Typically, anything upwards of 500 hours is common, with car SOS cars taking between 500 and 1400 hours to complete a project + the cost of parts and consumables. It really depends on the initial condition of the car and the customer’s requirement

Is the next one in 2 weeks ? Might have to record it and fast forward the crap though
The second part of the Land Rover "special" will be shown on Thursday this week, and the real series starts next week with a TR4.jonwm said:
I really enjoy the normal show, but didn't enjoy the live ones
That seems to be a common feeling among those posting on the Car SOS FB page....Fuzz posted earlier in the week, the thrust of it being (a) they're open to views and they're listening and (b) it's as well as rather than instead of the "normal" Car SOS format, which returns next week.
I've watched the first one and it did feel like a poor imitation of TG or GT. Tim Shaw makes me cringe at the best of times, but he was plumbing new depths this week....
I can't wait for them to go back to the original formula next week. I quite like Rick Wakeman, he's usually very entertaining but that format was difficult viewing for me, They did a good job on restoring the Land Rover though but I would have liked to have seen a lot more of the work shop process.

Not seen the new one yet - sounds a bit dubious from the comments so far, put I'm presuming its just a bit of series padding / waffle...
...Thankfully I've just stumbled over an episode I missed! the orange Triumph GT6.. just setting up the handover. Stunning little car.
Always loved the GT6. Fantastic example of a car with an engine that's too big for it really. Shame the Owner Andrew Ready passed away but at least he got to drive the car again....Thankfully I've just stumbled over an episode I missed! the orange Triumph GT6.. just setting up the handover. Stunning little car.
One good thing about the traditional SOS format is that it’s very consistent. To avoid all the nonsense at the beginning I skip through to 13 minutes on the Sky timer (it’s always at 13 minutes that Fuzz kicks off the build) which means I can avoid the sob story and Tim’s nonsense story about how to extract the car from wherever it’s stored.
