Reading the posts about the latest episodes highlights how hard it must be to make - "More Sabine" "Get rid of Sabine" for example.

I've never been fan of Bugatti's I think VW said it was a technical showcase, but to me it seemed more like a vulgar display of wealth for people in the Middle East and the US - found the Bentley slightly more interesting but the Honda Jet and that Ducati were lovely to see.

Pacman bit, meh - I know some people like it.

The only thing that really annoyed me - CH said something along the lines of "we can thank Bugatti for the McLaren P1, the La Ferrari and the 918"... Nah, I don’t see it – they’re razor sharp hypercars designed to destroy track times – they’re a continuation of the Enzo, Carrera GT and F1 coupled with hybrid technology that’s meant to help bridge the gap between F1 style Kers and normal hybrid road cars.

IMHO The Veyron was a car evolutionary cul-de-sac, a massive 1000Bhp rocket that could only reach it’s headline gabbing top speed at a handful of places around the world and couldn’t hold a torch to ‘lessor’ supercars on a track. The Chiron is the same but more. If anything we should thank the McLaren F1 for the Bugattis – McLaren never chased pointless top speeds for the F1, it was a result of BMW over shooting their target for power because they missed their target for weight – I think Bugatti needed a USP and a silly top speed was it, I’m glad I got that off my chest, I was thinking of buying a Chiron, but I’ve decided on Skoda with a 155mph top speed, just to keep it real you know 😉

What's the 'gag' with the diggers and Joey? I spotted the video of the digger on the Jet and it was clearly an in gag, but I can't think why. confused
It is just that. MLB has a fondness for industrial machinery; he's mentioned it in previous shows in the "news" segment and we had him playing with a heavy duty muck spreader last week. So the producers have set themselves a challenge of finding how MLB can be related to this big machinery each week.

Yes, agree with that. The Veyron had eff-all to do with the P1, 918 or LaF. The Macca F1 did though.

Enjoyed that one as much as last week's.

All you moaners, I really do wonder what you want from Top Gear, it's a well shot hour of car stuff that has to appeal to non car people too. confused
This.

Well said, sir. The moaners will continue as it is their perceived right to do.
It's a forum where people give their (varied) opinions. Where's the harm in saying what bits you do or don't enjoy?

Last night was OK, although the shouty German bloke and Pac Man part (with contrived multi point turn by CH) was just tedious filler. Just my opinion, no harm done. smile

I quite enjoyed the episode personally. No major complaints from me. A solid effort all round.
Same here, a most enjoyable hour in front of the box.

Apart from the Pacman bit(never liked video games so it was never going to get my attention anyway) and the increasingly annoying Reid it was an enjoyable episode. Definitely heading in the right direction.

Every time Rory Reid appears I feel like I'm watching Blue Peter and the target demographic is 5-15.

i think they've finally found their groove. MLB and CH have (what feels to me like) genuine chemistry now.

I enjoyed the show, pacman bit was a bit silly but no more so than when the holy grail were doing it smile

I noted the BBC have invested in a few drone cameras to record the celebrity laps.

Next week, more retro arcade games. This time, it's Asteroids.
Sabine Schmidt stands in the middle and everyone else throws rocks at her if she opens her gob...

Don't really like the new camera angles have to be honest.

Too much motion, flying towards a car that's coming at you, just confusing.

Watched the latest episode with trepidation and sadly my fears were realised.
Harris? Very good, and getting better, although when he reaches the standards of the 'Chris Harris On Cars' videos on YouTube I think we will see the very best of him.
Sabine? Just annoying.
LeBlanc? He makes me want to get out a hammer and nails, he's so wooden. His repartee is so obviously scripted and unfunny that it's painful. You can get a long way by becoming the amour of a shows producer (or whatever she is...)
After having watched The Grand Tour, which I swore not to do, I realise how witty the original TG is/was and what the current show is lacking. And yes that's even including Hammonds simpering sycophantic approach to JC.
Sorry if I sound like a 'nay-sayer', but I could have easily pressed 'fast forward' through all of the show bar Harris, and missed nothing at all....

Weakest so far I thought.

Chiron bit was OK, but a bit of a disappointment I thought.

Race was a bit silly, but OK, that's nothing new.

Twingo GT review was OK until they got into the Pacman thing and then it was a waste of 10 minutes.

I actually went upstairs and put some washing away when Titchy Walker came on - SIARPC was always shoe-horned in, but it's must miss TV now...

He might be a nice bloke (seemed pretty down to earth in what I saw when I came back), but the sycophancy was retch-inducing...
