It reminds me Heart radio, who seem to be only able to play about seven records a day on a constant loop.
Feck ! This week's local rag informed us that Heart are taking over our local radio station in March. We now listen to Absolute Radio which whilst not perfect, has a daily no repeat guarantee and a good selection of music.

Yes, but the same songs then get played EVERY day in the week!

Off Topic: many years ago I wrote to the BBC to suggest they added a new station every 10 years specifically for popular music of that time. This, I argued, would allow those who considered the channel theirs could continue with it as they and their channel grew older. The example I gave was me and my contemporaries who heard Tony Blackburn opening Radio 1 in 1967 and still think of the 60s and 70s as the heyday of pop. In my world I would still be listening to 60s and 70s music on Radio 1. Those interested in 70s and 80s music would listen to the BBC's Radio Sea of Tranquility or whatever they decided to call it.
They didn't reply.

Before we got DAB in work we listened to the local Heart station from 8 to 5 every day, and there were a certain batch of records that were played a minimum of 4 times a day, it became one of those things where we'd keep count.

I tried Absolute for my commute too and from work. Gave up after a couple of days because it seemed that during the twenty five minute commute, twenty minutes of it was adverts!!We now listen to Absolute Radio which whilst not perfect, has a daily no repeat guarantee and a good selection of music.
I'm now listening to GEM 106 in the mornings (unless Sara Cox is sitting in for Evans in which case I'll listen to her) and Mr Mayo in the evenings
Maybe they should have Ed Sheeran as a DJ and call it The Nothing but Ed Sheeran Show.
Must say I was never a fan of Wogan, affable though he was and I hated Blackburn back in the 70s, so his rehashed crap is even more annoying and ll because he won King of the Jungle, lwer brain functioning fodder for the masses.
Bring back Radio Luxembourg....couldn't beat a bit of Tony Prince, fading in and out on the ether.

I am a great fan of Tony Blackburn as he was in the eighties. He used to present what for some was the best show on radio every weekday morning on Radio London (not the pirate). For me the music he played was fantastic (soul & club), and his whole presentation was much more mature although sometimes close to the edge of what you could get away with on the radio.Sparky137 said:

Jimmy Young did seem to be trying to make the slot a serious program sometimes but it was still a bit banal.
How about get Andrew Neil to present it, get relevant experts in to be interviewed but stop the public phoning in with asinine remarks, and play classic rock.

Been saying the same thing for ages now.
Serious jockin, he goes on constantly about it like it's some revolutionary life changing event, but it's literally no different than the rest of his weekly shows?
The Jeremy Vine thing is annoying already, no doubt he'll milk it for all it's worth for at least another 12-18 months.
Also......'Hahahaha (forced laugh).....that's brilliant'

He's now got Vine on the show doing, I think they're jokes?
I can usually detect humour even if it isn't my cup of tea...but Vines voice overs simply are not funny one bit?
Could be worse, he could have one of those terrible impressionists who also do Trump impressions. Give me a call.... I can usually detect humour even if it isn't my cup of tea...but Vines voice overs simply are not funny one bit?

He actually caught me out this afternoon when he played the J.Vine voice saying ‘and next we speak to a woman that eats 7 rolls of cellotape a day’
