Hello all - complete novice here - gfs front wheel had been pinched - carrera vengence with 26inch wheels and disc brakes . Halfords quoting obscene money - can this be replaced with generic or is it new bike time ?
Would a shame as it's a nicely made thing that wasn't that cheap !

could buy an off the shelf like this

or look on ebay for a front 26" disc wheel.

I'll get on eBay - will a generic wheel and disc be suitable then ?

The only caveat I'd mention is making sure the axle size is the same. A normal quick release is 9mm but there are a variety of other standards out there Inc 12,15 and 20mm through axles

And I'm guessing the Crim didn't kindly remove the disk either, so you'll need to find out what diameter disk you need. It'll likely be 160 or 180
