New series started last night.

Hugh Dennis, Joe Lycett, Lolly Adefope, Mel Giedroyc, Noel Fielding.

Thought it a bit flat, has yet to achieve the heady heights of ridiculousness as previous series.

Just caught up, not the contestants I would of liked to see up there, but I enjoyed it!

Thought the second episode was on form.

Not sure why Hugh was DQ for putting something over the carpet on the painting challenge, seemed a valid solution to me.

Plus Mel is great and seems a genuinely nice person.

The rules were that nothing, apart from the brushes and the paint could touch the carpet, so it was a fair disqualification.

Clearly Noel Fielding is something of an artist, and not just a piss artist. Didn't realise he was an artist in his own right.

When I saw the line up of contestants, I wasn't sure.

But I have to say they are not as bad as I feared. Lycett, Dennis and Fielding are my favs.

As above, some actual talent on the painting!

As I like a bit of cheese, while watching last nights episode I made a note of the "cheese subscription" name and looked it up. They'll send me a selection of cheese every month, for only £372 per annum.

The one thing that frustrates me is that there sometimes isn't a solution shown. For example in the task to transfer water from one bowl to another, was there a "best" way to do it, other than sucking it up into a pipe? Did any of the other items come into play? I know it's not really that kind of show, but it'd be interesting to know what they missed.

Didn't like Noel Fielding much in the things he has done previously, mainly arsing about on quiz shows like 9 out of 10 cats and Big Fat Quiz etc, but having seen him on Travel Man, where he behaved impeccably and now on here, quite warming to him. He might be quite good on C4 Bake off.

Anyway agree with above, it would have been nice to see a good solution to that fish bowl challenge as nobody really figured it out, and the whole editing slant was failure by muppets who don't read the exam paper.

Secondly, does Al Murray live very close to that house where they film the tasks? How did he get there in 10 minutes for Joe's camouflage test?

Thirdly, remember the first show where Mel had to get juice out of a lemon, she was doing that with one odd black shoe. She's been wearing one odd shoe on every episode, is this some long running gag, or do they film them all at one time? Can't wait to see where she's going with keeping the Taskmaster seals.

I'd imagine they film a lot at the same time and just juggle it around in editing.

I think Al Murray mentioned in a previous episode that he lives very near the Taskmaster house.

Love how he tried to splash the cash to win the events!

I have never really got him, and always thought he tried too hard - but on this he is coming across as self-effacing and really likable (and his solutions are good).

To be honest - so long as it is vaguely achievable to some extent I don't think the tasks are compiled with a 'best' solution in mind. They just want to see what 5 comedians will do given certain rules.

I would also imagine the studio bits are filmed in one lump, with the contestants asked to bring a change of clothes and change their hair to give it a week by week look

I've really been enjoying this series - some excellent tasks (and solutions) so far.

The longer run of episodes this season, compared to previous, seems to have worked well too.

Have to confess I didn't rate the line up for this series, but, Lolly aside, they've been great!

I was thinking who I'd like to see doing this next time. ( I realise they've already filmed S05 )

Thinking these 3 guys

Richard Ayoade
Adam Hill
Rhod Gilbert

Sadly can't think of any Comediennes worth having.... laugh
