I thought it was a bit flat, particularly compared to the early series. Maybe they're all working each other out.

The element of Taskmaster I most enjoy is Greg Davies taking the piss out of the contestants, and he doesn't seem to be firing on all cylinders yet. Bit tricky when Mae Martin gets a bit teary during the wedding dance I suppose, and taking the piss out of Frankie Boyle is like tweaking a bear's nose. I guess Jenny Eclair is doing the Jo Brand thing, but it looks like Greg Davies doesn't have the same level of rapport with her that he had with Jo so can't really steam in.

Very enjoyable first show - and the last task!

Loved the slow-mo replay that showed Ivo's reaction after knocking Kjell's pot off the pole. Going from happy with a smirk (after knocking it over) to the shock / amazement as Kjell did the same and winged / knocked his down too hehe

Yeah they cropped up on my YT homepage the other day and I'm about 7 episodes in. Like you say, just not funny which i found surprising as the New Zealand version has been hilarious and you'd think the Aussies would be there or there abouts with them, it's even filmed in the same place!

This got linked on another forum earlier - Junior Taskmaster on the way as a complimentary, obviously PG, show.

Will not be watching. I'm with Greg on this, Taskmaster for members of public or kids. Just no.

I'm finding Jenny Eclair quite funny. That's not a sentence I ever expected to write.

The golfer with Frankie... That was staged, right? I don't think they've done that before have they?

I have to be honest I found series 1 of TM NZ absolutely hilarious. Could easily watch it again. Got a few episodes into S2 then it all seemed to disappear from YouTube.

Just need to find a new zealand VPN smile

I understand why it was but like I say, not sure they've ever done that before have they? I'm not sure turning the tasks into skits is a good idea. I think it would have being funnier to just have Alex dead pan explaining that startling golfers wasn't allowed.

It's an active golf course so people would be teeing off there, perhaps they post a message in the club house when filming is on and that around that tee they may be distracted by Taskmaster tasks being carried out or things thrown over the fence. Pre-warn them.

3 episodes in and it's not the best is it...? Not bad but the contestants don't seem to have gelled with each other and so the team tasks and studio bits all fall a bit flat.

They're usually really good at casting each series but this one feels like a bit of a miss and it's all a bit low energy.....

Agreed, take a look back to seasons 4,5 and 6, how it's fallen. Surprisingly my favourite is Frankie, my pre series favourite of Kiell has not disappointed either to be fair.

Series 14 before this was amazing, one of the best as it was cast perfectly, Kearns and Brady in particular. Season 11 also stands out to me too as being up there, Wozniak made that one!

Series 6, at the time, I wasn't a fan of but having watched it back it's now a favourite. Tarbuck in particular!

Agree about Frankie, I was dubious of what he'd be like but he's actually the only one to have got any sort of a laugh from me yet.
