Okay so his wife asked him to kill her as she didn't want to go into a care home, this I get, but doing it with a frying pan and a hammer eek

Surely there's got be a better way than that, simple overdose probably a bit less traumatic.

+1 - sleeping pills, car, duck tape and a hosepie for a start without putting any real thought into it.

Sure as hell if i were to ever consider a mercy killing 'hammer and frying pan' are not the first things that would strike me as the swiftest and cleanest ways of dispatching a loved one.

One must also assume that he backed out of it fairly swiftly as i would not have thought that it would take too many blows to the head with a hammer for it to be fatal.

Surely the sub-text behind this is how we have let our old age care system get into such dire straights that an old guy like this thinks it preferable to batter his beloved wife to death rather than see her in a home.

This can't be real. It reminds me of that joke about the final test for the woman trying to join the CIA.

Maybe he is a fan of Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson

Just quoted on Reddit, funnily enough...
