Terminator 2 Judgment Day 3D
Discussion
I'm just surprised it's took them this long to do it. Back in 2000, I did the T2:3D experience at Universal Studios. It was mighty impressive back then. Looking forward to seeing this.
Although I wish Cameron would get his finger out and release a decent version of The Abyss. I still have my R1 non-anamorphic DVD from 2000, as it's still the best version of this classic.

Would be good to see it again in the cinema but I'll go to the 2D showing thanks.
+1 3d is dead, the 4k may be worth a watch, though maybe the lesser visuals add to its nostalgic charms? That article has no mention of work on the sound, an in-depth atmos/dtsx release would be much more interesting.

Yep this - and I hope when it finally comes out, they leave the rat scene untouched.New trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VVZQ39i5G1s
Not old enough to have been able to see it in the Cinema first time round, it is never the less, one of my all time favorites. So I would like to experience it on the big screen.
But 3D? presumably post-processed 3D at that, I have my doubts as to how enjoyable that will be. The only 3D movie that actually didn't look garbage and wasn't jarring to watch was Avatar. Of all the 3D movies I have seen, that was the only one shot in stereo. All others were post processed and it wasn't worth it.
Or have they unlocked the key to post processed 3D?
fk it. Still going.
ETA: Will it be a directors cut? With the CPU removal scene and the extended scenes where Sarah scopes out Dyson's house and shoots him?

I'm really quite excited about this!
I'd actually rather see it in 2D, but that doesn't appear to be an option, and I understand its only doing one showing.
Going to make the most of it though, I was only about 13 when this first came out so never got to see it in the cinema, my first experience of it was on a mono sound, 21" CRT TV. Finally get a chance to do it justice

I'm excited too - I really don't like 3D, not one bit - But the opportunity to see Terminator 2 on the big screen is one I refuse to miss ... I was 6 when it was released first time round and i've loved it since I first saw it on a rented VHS a couple of years later.
An absolute classic, and in my opinion superior to the first film.

I actually prefer the original as a film, the scenes and the story are better. 'Nice night for a walk', the police station massacre, Tech Noir...
The sequel has a lot of homage to the first one and a lot of big spectacular stunts in it, but it's main advantages were the CGI and a much much bigger budget. And turning into more of an action film rather than a sci-fi horror.
I wonder if anyone ever watched it and was tricked that Arnold was still the villain and the T-1000 was another human/Reece equivalent? As that was the original intent up to the point where you saw the liquid metal in the mall.

Booked my ticket yesterday. My local Vue is doing two showings on Tuesday and it was gratifying to see that seats are already being booked by the public. I often have the place to myself so it's interesting how popular this movie still appears to be despite the low-key publicity of the 3D revamp.
