Due out in the USA on 2nd June.

I should imagine it will be available via the high seas soon after.

First episode was ok. They had a bit of baggage to deal with from last seasons climax. I think we will see an improvement now that's dealt with.

There's so much good sci-fi on at the moment, The Orville, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Star Trek Strange New Worlds, The Boys... and I still haven't got around to watching season 2 of Raised by Wolves yet.

I thought it was more than ok.

Didn't play for laughs at all. Proper Star Trek

I'd agree with this. Don't bother with season 2 of RbW. There's far better TV out there deserving of your time. It's worse than s01, finished without concluding things, and news recently broke that it's now been cancelled, so all the story strands from S01 and S02 will now never be finished.

They must still have a box full of old unmade star trek scripts.
Can anyone tell me why the star trek people didn't sue them for making this? If its ok why dont we have 100s of things almost similar to star wars ?

It's TNG with different actors. I like it a lot.

Brannon Braga, writer & Executive Producer of Star Trek TNG, Voyager etc also writes, directs & is producer of The Orville.

I can just image the conversation . "we're not doing it no more. If you think you are so clever go somewhere else and do it"

Hi Guys,
Checked Disney+ today and could not find The Orville anywhere. What am I doing wrong?

Brannon was interviewed recently for the Shuttlepod One podcast and YouTube show run by 2 of the actors from Enterprise, where they interview people associated with Trek (and Enterprise in particular, at the moment). He said The Orville is very much Seth's show and he's in overall charge, but he (Brannon) is there as his right hand man, in effect and yes, it's basically Trek the way they (ie him and Rick Berman etc) used to do Trek and at the moment that's what he wants to do. He certainly didn't criticise modern Trek (obv he wouldn't, he works in the industry).

Have you got any age restrictions on your account, filtering out certain content? It’s definitely there, just watched it.

Was ok but wasn’t completely hooked, hoping to see more away from the Kaylon arc.

Shame, it started off really well.

Well, though the second episode was very good, it looks like the new seriousness may be permanent. It's lost what made it different. I think it's lost its heart.

Stil got humour in there...definitely not as forward as it was in the earlier scripts though. More like a "more light hearted TNG" I suppose, rather than the spoof it started out as.
