Ah yeah - does look like they did a bit of CGI magic on her then. She also looked like her head was too big and jawline very masculine - I guess that was all just cgi though thankfully!
Apparently it was filmed in two locations and CGI'd https://www.slashfilm.com/937718/dolly-partons-the...

Certainly some influences from a certain 1977 film.

Just watched the square weird-shaped, big-faced Dolly Parton episode. Now I am a huge fan of The Orville but this was 99% cringeworthy utter sh*** only rescued by the last maybe 10 minutes of total schmaltz.

Horrific. F*** o** Dolly, more chemical than human, terrible, terrible rip offs posing as homages. Crap. Sorry, it has to be called out.

Also, is it me or is Seth a graduate of the new Roger Moore school of acting, mainly raised eyebrow or "a look" but definitely less lines.

The next episode is back to Orvillian brilliance.
Nice twist. Overly schmaltzy but I'll take that.

She was in Marvel's Agents of SHIELD for a while quite possibly wearing similar-ish. smile

I always think that Seth is very or rather too self aware in front of the camera.

If you watch A Million Ways to Die in the West, you'll see what I mean.

He's not a "great" actor as such. Much more comfortable writing or doing voice work.

Imagine the Star Trek TNG in their prime crew doing these Orville scripts instead.

However, another great episode. Nice nods as said to SW & TG.

I really hope it gets picked up for a 4th series.

Liking the longer format too. Really allows them time to tell the story without rushing things or having to add filler.

While I don't feel quite as strongly I agree it was a tragic cringefest.

We both thought the Dolly worship was hysterical. It was deliberately schmaltzy, but went on rather too long anyway.

Newest episode is out thoughts?

Good but we have had quite alot of big space battles now and there was very little comedy. A few missed oportunities for a joke ie

in the small fighters on the weapon attack run we saw a new character you knew would get shot down they could have made a battlestar galactica reference of "chuckles has bought it!" Or even a rip off of Seths own work when they are all reporting in "red leader standing by"
Or
Or a Star fox reference when they cant get a fighter off their tale from Peppy "do a barrell roll!"

Eh? Are you referring to Episode 9: Domino which we were all discussing last week?

Just waiting on Episode 10 : Future Unknown to appear on Disney+ here in the UK tomorrow.
