scifi fans will watch anything with rockets and ray guns in. So expect the moaners to still be watching.

Watched the first two and was not taken by it, IMO they are trying (and failing badly) to create suspense and cliff hangers.

It just came across as a bit st!

We'll see where it goes for a couple after this but I think I'm probably going to not bother for long..

Enjoying The Orville though.

Me too, and I'm liking the series so far. That includes the new-look Klingons speaking something other than English for the most part.
Snap. I love the fact that the Klingons speak Klingon, at some point in the Star Trek universe the universal translator must not have existed

So are we smile It’s got a real Next Gen feel to it, only with modern effects.

Wish the klingons would hurry up and say what they want to say. No wonder there was war, the Universe gave up waiting for them.

Other than that, I like it. Plot holes aside but what the hell.

Dull cliched plot.
Unlikable characters with no chemistry.
Shocking production values - all lens flare and rotating cameras.
Bludgeoned political correctness.

It has turned Star Trek in to just another dark grim Sci-fi shoot-em-up.

I'm all for change, but this was just poor.
This. Very disappointing.

Indeed. Anyone would think that they're not actually fluent in Klingon and were reading their gibberish from cue cards

Hearing Klingon might give some geeky Trekkie fans a semi but it's hard to follow and as you say the dialogue sounds too long and stilted. In the interests of better flow they should just drop it. Yes it's less "authentic" but we are watching a TV show so I'd prefer to watch\hear the actors rather than reading small text at the bottom of the screen while the actors try to painfully mangle their way through the Klingon language.

Yeah I don't know why they persisted with the Klingon. Start off with it, fine. But then segue into the queen's ffs.

1080 hdr. Interesting tack, wonder if more of this appears in other shows, yet Netflix continues to charge a premium for 4k.

I like the look of it and will be watching. Strangely it never came up on my Netflix Recommended list until I’d browsed this thread, went on to Netflix, bang there it is right on the home screen -thing! scratchchin

Overall, I thought it was good. I like the premise and feel that the season will become more interesting when they start to focus on the secondary characters more.

I'm not quite sure why people are claiming political correctness? Perhaps I'm just some libtard cuck that sees nothing wrong in characters being black/Asian/female/pacifist...
