Some are saying that it is insufficiently Trek. It seems to me to be very Trek indeed.

I think every series since ToS has been lambasted by certain Trekkies for not being Trek enough. Some people just don't like change.

Yup, and some don't like women or non white people being in charge. Hell, they are even some who hate a British guy pretending to be a French guy being in charge!

I am, by the way, a Trekkie but NOT a Trekker. The way to tell if you are a Trekkie or a Trekker is as follows:

If you like Star Trek, a lot, and know many nerdy facts about Star Trek, you are a Trekkie. This is fine.

If you own a pair of Spock ears, you are a Trekker. This is not fine.

If you go to Trek or other sci-fi/comics conventions in costume, you have Trekked beyond the Final Frontier and there is no hope for you.

I think that is very disingenuous, don't you?

Captain Janeway of Voyager lasted a full seven seasons, as did DS9, which had Captain Sisko, a person of colour, and, of course, TNG. Enterprise, which had a white male captain lasted only 4 seasons.

How does that square with your comment?

I wonder if you know what the word disingenuous means, but let that pass. I am talking about the loon fringe on the net. Possibly even the sort of loon who thinks that PC gone mad has turned the Klingons into Trumpistas.

Yeah ! # rubber forehead lives matter!

I hope that there are lots of M Yeoh flashbacks later in the series, BTW.

M Yeoh must rank as the best or second best very good Bond girl in a really bad Bond film. D Rigg is the other contender.

One definition of is not candid or sincere.

There will always be a small fringe of loons at the edge of all popular culture, that is a given. Regarding your last point, it was the producers themselves (or at least one of them), who stated that Klingons were based on Trump, the fact that CBS are trying to back track on that to avoid a possible PR and ratings disaster doesn't change what the producer said - if the original stories from the media were true.

So in other words you were accusing me of fibbing. I wasn't fibbing. I shall not hold my breath awaiting your apology, as I don't wish to look like some blue alien.

As for your Klingon nonsense, the bones on your horse are showing.

Okay.

But please, no spoilers.

Especially as it's not a fixed air-time many may not make/have time to watch on the day of release and prefer not to know what's happened.

It's ok I don't do spoilers. That's as much as I'll say. Again it's in my opinion though so don't be confused if you don't like it, its just that our opinion differ haha!
