Star Trek: Discovery - New series on Netflix

No I'd say Season 2 is worth watching in its entirety. Much moreso than S1.
Where season 1 was poor with some worthy highlights, season 2 had successive expanding points and a neat, if convenient end.
In particular, the introduction of Spock and Pike, far from being a catastrophe, worked so well that you'd watch a season of them alone.

Watch the whole lot, it's excellent Honestly, I thought the final episode was one of the weaker in the series. Partly for the reasons mentioned by Catatafish above, but also because there was so much going on it was hard to keep track of it. The slower battles of Star Trek of old are better, though I don't miss Picard calling a meeting in the Ready Room for opinions every time they were in a crisis.

Anson Mount has been great as Christopher Pike. Shame we can't get Jason Isaacs back though.
They were both excellent, especially Mount. I wonder who they're going to make Captain? Seeing as they're in the future they can't exactly fly someone in so I hope it'll be Saru who's grown on me and then Burnham will likely become Number 1.Now if they could just do an Enterprise series with Spock and Pike I'd be very happy. According to the timeline posted above there's ten years between Discovery and Star Trek TOS. Plenty of time for shenanigans on the Enterprise. And very handy tie up about the Spore drive too!

I quite enjoyed it, but a lot of the plot felt convenient.
One thing i really don't get though - why did Burnham and co. still need to...
go 950 years into the future? As Control had been 'neutralised'
As far as the Discovery plot line went, I wondered exactly the same. One thing i really don't get though - why did Burnham and co. still need to...

That said, the spore drive, temporal travel, time crystals, Burnham - none of it appears to exist in the known ST universe and, for this reason (along with the 'none shall speak of these events' ending), it seemed to be a convenient way of explaining their 'non-existence'.
Still a thoroughly enjoyable series though, and roll on #3.

In Voyager there was an episode where a federation "time ship" came back from the future and interacted with events in Voyager. I can't remember how far in the future this 'Time ship' had come from but recall they do it to keep the time-line straight.
I thought it was the 29th century but could be wrong. I also recall there being temporal prime directives in the 31st century allowing time travel but banning the changing of events - study purposes only.
Could be wrong.

Voyager had the two from the 29th Century (Captain Braxton in his little ship and then we had the USS relativity).I thought it was the 29th century but could be wrong. Enterprise had crewman Daniels from the 31st century along with the whole temporal cold war arc.

I'm not sure what you mean by "convenient"? The plot tied up a lot of the things that critics said were "convenient" like the ship being drawn to a particular planet at a particular moment so yes you could say that it was "convenient" but actually it turned out Burnham was engineering things like the Klingons entering the battle because otherwise they would fail everything was by design.I would like to sit down and rewatch the whole season to better grasp how everything pulled together but it worked for me.
Terrific episode and an enjoyable season. Well done and roll on S3.
Note: I can't see how they can engineer a "Georgiou Spin Off" from that ending so perhaps that is show dead, unless we go backwards to her as Terran Emperor?
Alex Kurzman hinted in an interview recently that fans were being listened to, and that the possibility of a spin off with Pike and Spock aboard the Enterprise was being mooted as a future possibility but nothing for definite.
I'd be more interested in that than a Georgiu spin off. I think...

I can't understand the Georgiou thing at all. She seems very OTT and panto villain. I also struggle to understand her accent sometimes.I'd be more interested in that than a Georgiu spin off. I think...
I love the evil pantomime Georgiou, and Michelle Yeoh is doing a great job. But I think the character is best used in moderation.
They could do an ongoing story of her growing into a better person due to Starfleet influence. It could even be good. But I’d rather they left her as she is, coming in to steal the scene and chew the scenery every now and again.

Loved her obvious glee when she got her revenge, most un-Starfleet like. They could do an ongoing story of her growing into a better person due to Starfleet influence. It could even be good. Enjoyed season 2 hugely, but now I want and a Pike and Spoke series as well as Discovery season 3.
As much as I would now be keen on a Pike and Spock show, having a show where the Vulcan is called Spoke appeals even more A Patrick Stewart-led untitled Picard series.
A Discovery spinoff starring Michelle Yeoh.
Star Trek: Lower Decks, the half-hour animated comedy from Mike McMahan (Rick and Morty).
