Me too, there are at least 3 spin offs coming along.
A Patrick Stewart-led untitled Picard series.
A Discovery spinoff starring Michelle Yeoh.
Star Trek: Lower Decks, the half-hour animated comedy from Mike McMahan (Rick and Morty).
The lower decks thing will probably be aimed at a younger generation than me so I'll give it a go but am expecting it not to be my thing. Really not fussed about the Michele Yeoh spin off, if she's the main character - her and Burnham were the things I liked least in Discovery.A Patrick Stewart-led untitled Picard series.

I'm expecting them to really fk up the Picard thing and change him too much; I hope they don't.

Lower Deck is aimed at adults - but I'm concerned it'll be too Family Guy-ish, I mean I like The Orville, but come on Star Trek and adult humour, hmmm, however, there will be a kids animated thing too. I think the idea is that there is always a Star Trek something on TV.I'm expecting them to really fk up the Picard thing and change him too much; I hope they don't.
I really liked Michele Yeoh, I though her

Yeah I like Michelle as a drop-in like Q, but her character isn't fleshed out enough and, like the Borg, overexposure leads to incredulity that she was ever a ruthless emperor who rose to the top.
Depends what they do I guess. The story of her rise to become emperor could be quite coolI don't know how much has been confirmed, but the Georgiou spin off is to be based around Section 31 I believe. Which should have potential, given how season 2 of Discovery ended in that debriefing room, but of course Georgiou is currently circa 900 years into the future, so they've to work that out somehow.
I'd echo the comments above on the character, my gut feeling is she's best used in a recurring role throughout a season, but not anchored to every episode.

Finally caught up with the last episode so I'm not having to dodge spoilers. Phew.
Really, really enjoyed that. The Discovery crew now properly feel like a crew, and I'm glad to hear we'll see them together in a new season. Love the mix of characters and the ideas.
Pike and Spock ended on a perfect note and unlike Lorca, Pike felt like he belonged in that last episode and Star Trek as a whole. I'd be more than happy to see a series on Enterprise with them.
The rather circular nature of timey-wimey stories and the need to fit into canon can make it all feel rather too neat - but that's the whole point. We know where Discovery/Pike/Enterprise/Spock had to end up, so the jigsaw pieces had to fit. They did, and it all came together in an exciting, beautiful and well crafted episode that 'made sense' of the whole series.
More of the same please.

RLM observations of this turd
I never noticed the 20+ producer credits! Seems no one was really steering this in a coherent way. Explains the long list of plot holes and unresolved plot elements that make no sense by the end of the 'arc'
It's unbelievable that these things can get underway without any quality check on the story.

I watched that when it was posted. THe main one and rich are such fans, they love their stuff...reminds me of how I used to be with STar Wars, and how I am with Tolkien/Pratchett.I never noticed the 20+ producer credits! I am so happy, so happy that I have never (with the exception of the Kirk stuff/films as a kid) got into Trek.
They even tried to fk the Kirk stuff a few years ago.

I’m so hyped for season 3. Season 2 was the best Star Trek since DS9 ended twenty years ago.
Just been watching DS9 on Netflix again, two seasons left, excellent stuff.glazbagun said:

Stick with it, season 3-7 is amongst the best TV I’ve ever seen, which is remarkable given that the lead actor Avery Brooks is awfully wooden with his delivery.
I think Avery Brooks is pretty good, have a look at some of these clips.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IjvYiSDJujA

Just to say I watched the old Star Trek series but haven't bothered with discovery, saw Mike and Rich had reviewed Season 2 so of course clicked on to watch ASAP. Someone had a good idea, that Mike and Rich could review seasons of the old shows. Next Generation, Voyager and DS9. Whether it would be quite so entertaining when it isn't a clusterf*ck is another matter of course.
Incidentally the YouTube thumb nail they have for this is one of the best I have seen. Just have a look at Rich's expressions.

Watched the first two episodes of season 1 last night.
Some real clangers in there. Why do they write stuff like this? Let's board an enemy ship with only two crew members, both of which are the senior crew on the ship.
Whats with the women leads being everywhere too. Is this a Star Trek series that has been infiltrated by Disney (like that they did with Star Wars)?
I did like the way the evil Klingon enemy seemed male. Naughty men.
I'll stick with it, but it doesn't look too promising at the moment.
And the lead character's name? Is there something to that I'm missing?
All comments said in jest, of course.

Stick with it, towards the end of S1 and all of S2 are excellent. Some real clangers in there. Why do they write stuff like this? Let's board an enemy ship with only two crew members, both of which are the senior crew on the ship.

It's full of.characters that you won't care about and storylines which appear to have been written by media studies students - other than that it's great. Some real clangers in there.
