How on earth could the captain know that the final spore jump would send them back to his universe. Or had he planned that anyway?
Planned. This appeared in a "blink and you'll miss it" moment just prior to the jump, entered by Lorca from his chair on the bridge:

The difference between STD and previous Trek series is that they were more subtle. You had the character with autism but he didn’t come with a doofy hat and flashy lights saying “I’M A SPESHAL BIG BOY”. STD’s attempt at a similar character verges on offensive.

Binge watched it over 5 days. Thought it was a brilliant season 2.

Loved the Pike character, the Enterprise & old uniforms.

I thought Barclay was just shy? His storyline was pretty much about him coming out of his shell. Tilly seems a bit ADHD.

In retrospect, a few have ppinted out that Barclay was the only normal one on a ship full of Ubermensch who had infinite personal confidence and mental resilience.

What's with the tie fighter sound as Lorca falls (3:39)? hehe

Started season 2. One episode done. Still seems a bit silly. Why do they always send senior officers on the missions? And would someone so stupid as the bloke who gets wiped out by the asteroid in the little pod, actually be a science person?

Oh well. Will see how it goes.

How crap was that final fight - you could almost see them counting the beats - "left...and parry...and thrust...and roll..." Talk about "pretend fighting to make sure we don't hurt each other"...

S2 is more nonsense but does have Pike as a big redeeming feature. If you're not keen on Michael though, you're in for a long season...

Look at the deterioration in quality of graduates in 2019. Now imagine how bad they’ll be in another 200 years. Plus post WW3 the population will be greatly reduced and Starfleet have to take what they can get to crew the ships.

Not yet, but I am frantically searching for date.

Update, just found this.

One link says Discovery season 3 won't hit screens until late 2020.................... frown

Not expected until Jan 2020 at the earliest, according to digitalspy. Screenrant reckoned possibly Spring 2020, to allow Picard some airtime breathing space.

All conjecture, of course - they don't actually know.

updated my post - it was all conjecture on their part anyway - seems there isn't a formal date yet.

Picard is on from December, I think. So Discovery will be some way after, I would think.

If Picard, Discovery and The Orville were all on at the same time I think I would have the biggest nerdgasm and explode.
