Funny you still see Pike on the main graphic on that page. Seeing Anson Mount on his Twitter account, looking all beardy and woolly haired, you'd never figure it was the same guy. hehe

I've given it the benefit of the doubt for 2 series but think they've lost me now.

That was good.

I have a feeling season 3 is set over a long time period.

Book’s alien speak is annoying - he must’ve spat all over anyone in front of him while filming.

How many episodes in this one?

Bold to do away with Starfleet - there's no more canon to worry about. Only thing now is I'm waiting for Kevin Sorbo and the high guard to make an appearance

Indeed.

But to fair they probably should have gone with something like this from the start. It’s biggest problem was trying to squeeze an unknown, galaxy changing story into such a heavily cannon reliant series.

The “we shall never speak of it again” deus ex machina at the end of last season of not highlighted this more!

I'm just disengaging brain and enjoying the production values.

Burnham still annoys the hell out of me. Nobody can be that goody-two-shoes...

They should have just remade Flash Gordon with a female lead. Michael, aha, she saves everyone of us!

The ship arrives next week, may make a bit of more sense.

Watched the first one. Seemed fine, but kept expecting the ship to arrive and save the day. Will do reserve judgement until I see a few more of this season. So far, better than Picard?

Picard is infinitely better. Discovery's main problem is each and everyone of the characters is intensely irritating and dislikeable.

Surely everyone's going to be (literally) trying to get a piece of Discovery after it turns up...

Can’t agree. Picard is rubbish. Motley rag-tag crew of a ship go on an adventure...been done a thousand times.

Agreed. Picard was awful. Discovery started off poorly and has increasingly got stronger.

As a non Trekkie I really enjoyed the 1st episode of the 3rd series. New characters, lots of action and a nice ending !!
