No it’s fine, I’ll give you that one. It was a nice little sneaky reveal tbh.

I only just realised yesterday that 'Michael' is Sasha from The Walking Dead...
What's more worrying is that I just realised Ash is Clem Fandango from Toast.....
And the captain is Mr Malfoy!!!!

That was the weakest episode so far in what has, until now, been first class science fiction.

I assume its OK to talk about it now, the day after broadcast. Much like we can talk about any programme broadcast last night without having to hide behind spoiler tags?

I'd say no to spoilers. Just because you and I saw it yesterday, it may take others days or weeks to catch up.

Anyway, FWIW I agree; it was a weak episode for me. They can't all be great though.

If I don't watch it on a Monday I just avoid this thread until I do, so on that basis I'd say that discussion without spoiler tags is fine.

Sorry, can’t agree. With everybody using PVR’s nowadays (ie Sky Boxes) you could wait weeks until most people have caught up. After all they’ll be chatting on the Walking Dead thread about last nights episode I’m sure. Game of Thrones thread worked in a similar fashion - OK to chat about it directly after the broadcast finished at 10pm. ST: Discovery was available from yesterday afternoon.

However, if a consensus is agreed I’m happy to fall in line.

Wasn't it also in the 1st episode?

I'd say 24 hours after it's aired is fair game to talk about the latest episode, as by that time it's going to be all over YouTube and the like.

Yep we already knew Spock and Micheal's father (adopted) was Sarek. You guys need to pay more attention. wink

I also agree this episode was a bit weak compared to some of the others but still worth watching.

As for spoilers, all other threads have a rule that you are allowed to discuss the current episode after it has been officially aired in the UK. If you haven't seen it yet, just don't look in this thread.

Dammit. Am in Florida on hols, was looking forward to watching the latest episode on Netflix last night but turned it on and nada. Not there. Guess it's a region thing because it's on a paid for channel over here. Same with a few others in my list.

It's OK but it doesn't feel like Star Trek to me (yet). Previous ST's felt as if they at least made a nod to plausible science but the latest just seems like it was made up in the pub. Do they have a scientific advisor?

And why do the Klingons suddenly look like space lizards?

You do know that any true scientific advisor would tell them that the whole premise of Star Trek is flawed so you have to allow a little reality-slippage in order to enjoy Star Trek.

Hence the need for a ‘Heisenberg Compensator’. In case you’ve forgotten: http://memory-alpha.wikia.com/wiki/Heisenberg_comp...

Klingons are different? Check out the the differences between the Klingons in the Original series and the Next Gen.

Well we’re all entitled to our opinion. I prefer these new Klingons. Far more ‘Alien’ than the previous “stick-on forehead ridges” type. Love their brutality too, especially last nights example.

Using iPad app so that doesn't work, and tried going to the UK site in Safari and got the same result.
