Star Trek: Discovery - New series on Netflix
Discussion
Stupid, very spoilery questions below...:
I got caught up in the big reveal, so I may have missed some pertinent facts:
1. Do we know what has happened to Good Lorca or is this still to play for?
2. Does Mrs Todt know about Bad Lorca going to the other side to bring Michael back? I didn't catch whether it was Michael piecing the puzzle together in her head for the audience or it was being explained to her by Mrs Todt.
3. Do we know what happened to Bad Michael?
4. I'm not going to ask any questions about Stamets.
5. What do you think sauteed Saru tastes like?

Interesting that some posters are saying that this is a weak series.
IMO, it's been straight into it.
Have a rewatch of the first series of Next Gen or DS9 if you want to see a weak start.
Yeah, it steps all over the cannon but I'm enjoying it.
Those series are more than 25 years old. Things have moved on a bit so not directly comparable I think (but yes, they were generally seen as the weakest seasons).IMO, it's been straight into it.

I thought TNG was pretty good from the start ("Encounter at Farpoint" I think?)DS9 was a bit more of a slow burner. Never got into Voyager or Enterprise.
Imagine how much better Discovery could have been if it was actually Jean Todt as the Emperor. Or his mentor, Jean-Marie Balestre.
Ooohhh that was good.
Lots of spoilery things to discuss as that leaves a lot of characters completely up in the air (or at loose)... it's going to be a straight run to the end of series as they dig their way out of this mess. Who's going to be left standing? Who's good and who's bad? Can I have another slice of ganglion?

The second half of the series really has turned it around, but it is all quite predictable still.
Nearly all of the twists have been predicted a long time ago and the finale will be not much of a surprise to trek fans.
Still good TV though and my enjoyment has been far increased just ignoring all the creative liberties that have been taken to make the series good.
