Enjoying it so far, I've got an Uncle who was a proper cowboy in the 80's sold and installed uPVC windows, couldn't put them in fast enough... but by god he tried, he was a combination of Vincent in this and Loadsamoney.
Mr Dad is still mad with him about the state of the Windows he fitted for him, in 1987, in a house they sold in 1993.
The "VAT Man" put him out of the collective misery of the rest of us in the 90s - he was always paying last years VAT with this years revenue, a combination of 90s recession and DG and its sales reputation put him under. He still thinks they had it out for him and it wasn't his fault.

Yes, there is 6.
Watched the lot this weekend. Really enjoyable. Music and cars were great, but I pointed out how they were all pristine, when in reality they'd have been covered in rust
They weren't. I've only seen the first episode, but before that Lancia got vandalised, the driver's door didn't close properly, and the steering wheel was nowhere near centred.Watched the lot this weekend. I've just watched the episode where Vincent wanted a company car. The writers got that one wrong IMHO - he wanted a BMW 3-series instead of a Granada LX. Big mistake because back then the Beemer wasn't yet a yuppie car. Plus the 3-series would have been in the Cortina/Cavalier class (albeit a much better car) and salesmen were very conscious of the class and trim style. Anyone remember those documentaries about travelling reps and their obssession with getting an LX instead of an L ?
I disagree. I was there in the 80s and in Essex. Salesmen vied for trim levels on Cortinas and Cavaliers. A Granada showed you were a Manager. Something like a BMW (even if it was a size smaller) was totally off the scale. If you had a German import as a company car you had well and truly made it.Last nights episode was quite chuckle-some, was written by Joe Thomas too. I did notice he nicked a line straight out of an Inbetweeners episode though, cheeky.
One thing that had me thinking was dogging, I mean, was that a thing in the 80's? I thought it was a more recent phenomenon. Any experienced doggers here care to verify?

As someone who doesn't really get involved in the "Star Wars" series or have any idea of how each one interacts, would Yoda have been mentioned in the 80s? I thought that was from one of the later-released films, or I certainly don't remember anyone doing the backwards-talking Yoda quotes back then.
Watchable, again.
