It is being written and directed by Shane Black though, which is a big plus.

The last one was a solid effort. I enjoyed it.

30 years ago now, how time has flown. You can remember most films of the 80s, Predator being one that springs to mind (amongst the likes of Terminator, Back to the Future, The Goonies, Empire Strikes Back and so on), but I can't imagine any from the 2000s that'll be remembered in such a nostalgic way, probably because the majority of Hollywood films today are garbage (same for the music).

I remember first watching Predator in the mid 90s on ITV which was taped one night. Only years later when I borrowed a retail copy off a friend that I discovered the ITV recording was cut quite considerably (mainly the extreme gore).

I think we should start a "nostalgia: what was on TV back in..." thread:-).

I had a tape of the ITV version as well - recorded without my parent's knowing and given an innocuous label so as not to arouse their suspicions

Talking about watching adult stuff underage, but it's surprising how many people you hear and comments you read about from people who saw an horror film such as this when they were like 5 years old. It's like parents couldn't care less back then, today they'd be a knock from social services saying they're kids are being turned into violence children (I'd be rather more concerned with the fluoride in their water and toothpaste and the WiFi and mobile phones that could be harming their mental state than a film) by watching such films. I watched Halloween when I was about 5 and it's never affected me in anyway; iroronically it's one of my favourite films. When I tell this to my girlfriend she has that shock horror look on her face lol.

I had a friend whose mum didn't care what he watched, so I'd seen the likes of Terminator, Robocop, Rambo and Aliens when I was about 6-7. It never did me any harm and I grew up to be perfectly normal [citation needed].

That said, for some reason my parents let me watch An American Werewolf in London when I was around that age and it utterly terrified me, being unable to sleep properly for weeks afterwards. Great film though.

One thing they picked uop on that I'd never really noticed is the striping back of the script as the movie goes on - So at the start there's plenty of talking between people but as the movie goes on the talking between the cast gets less and less until, when it''s just Arnie and Predator left there's very few lines spoken as it becomes a 1v1 for the ultimate prize - Life.

That clip turned me off. Maybe it was the constant replay and padding oit of monologue review?

Hence his lil look at all the predator films, and lists ranks them
