What do people think of Mel and Sue presenting The Generation Game and the effect that will have on audiences? My prediction is that it will do better with them presenting it than if they got some bloke from the pub to do it for £50 a night. Because people seem to like Mel and Sue.
I'd turn it straight off. can't stand them. But I can't stand Ant and Dec either - there is a vast amount of money for old rope.I only care that my licence fee goes more to David Attenborough than any other dross.

Given that the BBC is getting paid the same regardless, how important is it that the generation game with Mel and Sue is a success in the ratings? Perhaps they could use the huge salary budget to produce some quality output rather then compete with ITV/sky producing mediocre light entertainment.Halb said:

That said, no 'BBC Gravy Train' for me
How come?

Part-time now, but yeah. I do quite a lot of mocap and adverts and stuff these days but still do the odd tv/film thing here and there. Nothing particularly noteworthy and only if it's payin well enough to be worth it!

Yes, because he's really struggled to find lucrative employment over the years
That didn't answer my question. Would Heart pay him £2.25 million to do a breakfast radio show? Please try to stick to the facts.

Lots of whingeing going on by members of the public, in my opinion, about the "differential".
Do they really think that Claudia Winkleman and Chris Evans do the same job? Of course they don't, that's why they get paid different amounts.
It's like saying all "drivers" should get paid the same. Chris Evans drives a van for 2 hours a day. Claudia drives a truck once a week.
In my employment there is also something called "performance related pay" so that even 2 people apparently doing the same job can legitimately get different salaries. We are not party to Claudia's performance report.

I know,Chris Evans is fantastic and underpaid.Do they really think that Claudia Winkleman and Chris Evans do the same job? Of course they don't, that's why they get paid different amounts.

I think the complaint is about situations where women and men are doing broadly equivalent work. The media have just highlighted Evans and Winkleman cos they then get to quote big numbers.Do they really think that Claudia Winkleman and Chris Evans do the same job? Of course they don't, that's why they get paid different amounts.

BBC is really taking the piss to pay them who are so boring and couldn't entertain to make people smile and there are those who are trying their best to keep a roof over their head living on a minimum wage this is just capitalism with power and the mighty wealth of paying the TV license .

If the bbc do just say they are going to reduce the saleries of the men, and then the men say they are quitting. Can the bbc then offer them extra money to stay?
How about the men and women working for the BBC look at their wage slip and think "How fking lucky I am, doing a job I like, getting a nice wedge for not doing a lot whilst there are some poor sods slaving away on the NMW"gary58 said:
