In a weird way the whole of the game of thrones has set up for the white walker king to win the throne. The dragon being lured to its death shows he is adapt at subterfuge.
Maybe the white walker wants to rule, the army of the dead are just a means to this, he can raise them as well as return them once he has what he wants.

I've always believed that the Night's King would be the ultimate winner, but I don't see how anyone can say that he lured Danerys or the dragons anywhere. It was after all their idea, however misguided, to capture a wight.
Although the episode did go someway towards redeeming the series overall, it did look like they spent the entire CGI budget on the penultimate episode.

I don't think this series has been all that great. Seems too rushed over.

I took it as Bran just flicking through points in time. It wasn't until Sam gave him a specific point to look at, that things became clear.I don't think this series has been all that great. Seems too rushed over.

Not really, though it was a bit of a disappointing end. The guy has spent 6 seasons putting together some master plan to rule the world and now we'll never find out what it was. I watched all the Preston Jacobs videos on LF today, he's going to be annoyed that they just took him out like that!paulrockliffe said:
