Classical singers doing popular songs is right up there with breathy slow versions of popular songs in adverts. Both dreadful.

Must be time to flog a xmas album.

Whichever way it was, it was definitely the wrong way...

Debbie seemed much smoother and less frantic this time. I can't see Jonnie surviving.

I thought that Debbie was remarkably poor this week. Stilted and stiff. Poor choice of music and dance routine for her which I think could put her in the dance off this week, probably with Johnny. And we all know which one will be saved if it is those two!
Prophetic
Super-prophetic! Please pick my lottery numbers.
If only there was a 'lottery spoilers' twitter account.

The costumers should have made the stripe on Jonnie's suit curve forwards, then it would have looked straight when he stuck his arse out. smile

Haha, me and my wife said EXACTLY the same thing!

Should have been Susan with Jonnie, Debbie was way better than both even if it was their weakest routine. As an aside, when will the pros - or whoever decides these things - learn that trying to do traditional dances to today’s top ten more often than not simply doesn’t work.

Anyway, in the end it was the right result and may give Debbie the kick up the backside she needed, her performances - and Giovanni’s - have dropped off a bit in recent weeks.

I believe, but I am happy to told for certain by the Strictly aficionados on this thread, that the producer chooses the music and the professional dancers create a routine to go with it. On Digital Spy forum there was discussion when a new female producer took over 4 or 5 years ago and significantly changed the style of music supposedly to make the program more appealing to younger people.

the lovely debbie mcgee

trained at the royal ballet school and worked as a soloist for the Iranian national ballet company

returned to the uk to work as a professional dancer for the Dougie Squires's Second Generation troupe

then went on to working for Paul Daniels

later she went on to form her own ballet company

hardly in the spirit of the competition (neither are the other pro dancers who have competed in the past)
I think she will make the final 4 and be the first to be voted off by the public, because of the above.

debbie should make the final although I think the choice of dances now becomes more critical.

latin doesn't seem to generate the same amount of support as ballroom...

the best part of the weekend was the reaction after alexandras dance from the fellow pros and dancers....it was muted to say the least and nothing like the reaction to the other competitors....

forced smiles and muted applause....she is not liked by the look of it....

Unfortunately, I think Alexandra has been quite difficult to 'like' ever since day 1. Not sure why as she's certainly very talented but I do find that her personality rather grates on me.

Alexandra comes across exactly the same way she did in the X Factor, fake.
