How dare you diss the delicious Darcey! Not graceful?

Those legs!
I still have SCD on Series link from when the kids were interested but tend to skim through it these days.
The winner usually has the "likeability" factor but none of them do this series for me particularly Alexandra (no chance on public vote). Also no comedy contender like Ed Balls and no outstanding dances for me like previous series:

Whatever happened to Aliona?
I like Debbie best but she suffers from the "she used to be a dancer" syndrome. So by default Joe to win.
Can I just park this here?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1P-8OOgtZAI

Mind you, for that matter, Darcy doesn't display the grace you would expect from a ballerina.
How dare you diss the delicious Darcey! Not graceful? However, and bearing in mind that I have only been following Strictly for 3 or 4 years, watch her when she comes on. She waves her arms around theatrically, but effectively just walks. And when Bruno or Craig spin her, she doesn't really spin, and doesn't make a lot of effort. It's just something I have observed. Maybe she's been nursing an injury for 3-4 years, I don't know. But it's something I've noticed.
I don't mean it as a negative criticism, just an observation. It's something that has continued to surprise and confuse me.

Superb. That was from before I started watching Strictly, so I'd not seen that before. I really enjoyed it. Clockwork Cupcake said:

Yes, she's injured from many years as a prima-ballerina; "Over the years Darcey has had two operations on her ankle, torn her hamstring, snapped the anterior cruciate ligament in her knee and had an operation to resurface her hip. RichB said:

Ah, ok.I know Craig has an artificial hip, but I didn't know that Darcy was nursing long-term injuries. It shouldn't come as a surprise though, with hindsight.

I think there was a documentary on her a few years back - there are boxers who've come away with fewer injuries. Ballet is rough.Gassing Station | TV, Film, Video Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
